  1. You're right, that's why I ride with a loaded gun. This is Texas after all and I'd love to squeeze one off in a legally justified way that would get rid of a few bad apples as well.
  2. You mean I'll be able to go to the Randalls and not have to dodge random needles and feces?
  3. Not too terriblly disappointed in the height (it will still slightly edge out the Esperson Tower from my POV and still be in the foreground of the Chase tower); again just hoping for an interesting roof line.
  4. I'll try to post pics later tonight but it only takes a small sliver out of my view and will eventually block my view of the Pavillions Tower, not a big deal since now I'll be able to look at other folks balconies.
  5. Great news for my view since it will be slightly taller than 1300 Main (~20 storeys) and shorter than 1000 Main (36 storeys). Hopefully it will have an interesting roof line.
  6. Actually you could get hit by a dangling metal panel of the deteriorating "Days Inn" sign on the eastern facade on a windy day.
  7. Saw construction workers cleaning out the Savoy this morning.
  8. They now have a water pipe burst somewhere on the 3rd storey of the garage that has been leaking for about 3 days now. You can hear it when your walking about the base of the bldg.
  9. My bad, yeah the garage has a address plaque that shows 625 Bell.
  10. This building has similar proportions and scale to the apt bldg across the street, the Sheridan bldg. Nice fit for the hood.
  11. Go to the wells fargo tower skylobby, you can get a good view of the east by south-east.
  12. The garage I think the article is referring to is 425 Bell St.
  13. The side entrance has been open for about a month, I guess they're having open house tours. BTW those pics looks to be from about late 2010.
  14. So your saying we need the abbreviations?
  15. Warhol's is supposed to open 03/15/2013. They are also supposed to offer a lunch and dinner menu too.
  16. Whew! I was in a bad mood! Article about panhandling and related court decisions.
  17. I hope people so critical of bums aka "strangers" would find themselves without sanity, money, food, or a place to sleep.
  18. Not a fan b/c you have no factual way to dispute it. Thank you for proving my point. http://blog.chron.com/opportunityurbanist/2013/02/houston-dominates-americas-growth-corridors-and-makes-the-case-for-the-worlds-highest-standard-of-living/
  19. This is good enough for you? MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF COMPARABLE Tax dollars are already being used to splay housing farther away from job centers in form of highways. Let's not get into what tax dollars SHOULD be used for or you will be exposed as the corrupt propagandist you are. The report undercuts your cheerleading by showing that on average Houstonians spend more on transportation and housing thus eating up any potential cost of living savings that you blew chunks about in your rag. "Error has no rights."
  20. http://news.rice.edu/2013/02/25/rices-shell-center-for-sustainability-outlines-sustainable-strategies-for-houston-2/
  21. The exterior build-out (or rather build-up) for Skybar is almost done. Some bums are pretty cool (like the schitzophrenic black guy who lives at the base of the old days inn), some not (like the drunk asian guy who lives in the central bank bldg parking garage). I commute 20 city blocks roundtrip, everyday and I still feel kinda out of shape. /2 cents
  22. That's about as classy as complaining about prices in a non-profit.
