  1. The windows are almost all taken out now, exposing the safety orange columns. A huge hole is now where the black tar paper was exposed in the above photos. I'll upload my pics at a later date. Too bad they couldn't have built a pkg garage across the street to abut the firewall of the Wedge tower.
  2. Are they doing electrical tests? I noticed at night the emergency lights flashing up the building. Also it looks like they are almost done with the top 4 floors and the crown "fin" lighting at the top has a cool blue fluoresent glow.
  3. The renderings come off as very Sim, but the built material will pastel into it's landscape. It has a suburban office complex identity, the labeling wouldn't change people's perceptions much. And it certainly doesn't look much like a hospital, although the lines of functional programming are constantly being blurred. I personally like the triptych staggered bar style in plan, it reminds me of other big oil corporate campuses in the satellite cities of Sugar Land or the Woodlands.
  4. I would say "NO" Influence peddling can wait till after the vote; member that beauty thing and where it resides..
  5. The NY decon example by Liebeskind has the benefit of actual historical context, yielding a highly dramatic contrast. Regent Square is contriving it's context by pastiche. Apples and oranges comparison IMHO.
  6. I'm sure this will make for a great public restroom for all. Just kidding, but I'm not really sure any preconceived "design" is a good idea. The grade dynamics of it's current design does isolate the epicenter of the park and the sculpture's choice of materials reinforces a stark character. I'd be fine with the simplicity of a level grading and a manicured lawn of Hank Hill's criteria.
  7. LOL, Ron-Ron was telling the truth http://www.nytimes.com/1991/04/15/nyregion...tball-game.html Bryant - flagrant 1 for elbow Fisher - suspended game3
  8. Brooks was clutch. Great team effort though, I just wish the game wasn't on so late. This morning was rough. LULz
  9. What I've always wondered was how Niko Niko's was able to get a permit considering how close their patio is to the road. I could be mistaken, but I don't think code enforcement normally grants these types of variances often.
  10. Planning on going to Studio Grill this weekend using those free movie passes, this is the last weekend!
  11. Good call Jax! I stopped by Bodegas for dinner tonight and they had a nice lil happy hour still going. Food was good too, definitely better than Freebirds, and reasonably priced.
  12. When are yall gonna get a proper sign? I tryed Crave a couple monthes ago, it was good, my wife liked the cayenne pepper on the edamame. If we'rte ever out and about in the wee we'll stop by again. Parking is a problem all over midtown and valet parking tends to exacerbate the problem imo. I have a mailbox at the UPS off McGowen and it's simply a hassle when all the available parking is coned and all the street parking is taken.
  13. Glad to hear he's gonna be alright. The worst element of that part of the East End is the frustrated drivers coming and going from the tow impound lot.
