  1. So true. I don't mind them as long as they don't try to make it look like something out a 1950's movie.
  2. looks like monopoly money.
  3. Two free HOV lanes, thanks for the correction. No one carpools in this town, how stupid to make two HOV and only one Toll. Anyway, I was referring to the normal i-10 lanes being free. not the HOV or Toll. Either way, I think traffic will get worst due to this. Hopefully it will cause more gentrification and reclaiming of old Inner Beltway hoods. Really with tolls, traffic, taxes and TAKS education...do the burbs really look that good anymore? Sacrificing the big, new house for a better life might be a trend. Let's hope. We did, and life couldn't be sweeter.
  4. Brilliant. Amazingly Brilliant. Ok, so gas is going up, most of the US economy down, so lets not only toll, but double the tolls. People will chose to hit the free lanes and the old congestion problem remains unsolved. And what are they ever going to do about the 610 interchange? I'm so glad I never hit a freeway anymore.
  5. Maybe they'll keep it. This area has really gone up in price lately. In order to get in a liveable house in this school district you're having to be 300k+ , and having to sacrifice location a little to even do that.
  6. Have you all zoomed in on your house yet? Apparently I left the garage door open that day so you can see the make and model of the cars and everything else that's in there. Seems like it could be used more for evil than good.
  7. Wow, apparently it was Christmas, the wreath is up. Hmmm, its little creepy. I thought that there was only sor far down/close they could go with these images.
  8. I've already seen this and sent a letter to the corporation. Absolut has lost my business forever.
  9. Our yard in the WOodlands was INFESTED when we moved in. 1/4 Lemon Joy, 1/4 Hartz Flea shampoo and 1/2 water in a yard sprayer. I used the Miracle grow one. Spray/Soap the ENTIRE backyard. Grass, trees, bushes and soil. It works like a charm. For inside....yeah, they brought them in despite being on Sentinal., put down poweder laundry detergent and sweep in into the rugs. Let it sit for a few hours and then vacuum up. The soap dehydrates the bastards and weighs them down so they can't hop. Anyway, I did this once and never had a problem again. I had never seen anything like it, it was beyond gross to walk outside.
  10. Except the ones that tag a new house under construction, and bubble letter out the message, "This is my house, delicate flower."
  11. I think that's the best kitchen you've done so far. Love the backsplash.
  12. Love it. It's like forcing your neighbor in the burbs to plant some trees. Lord knows I needed that in the at that last house. Trees good.
  13. Ahhh, Let's just hope it doesn't become possessed with the spirit of ZULE and stomp through the city like the Stay-Puff man.
  14. Yes, they stay on the other side of Kirkwood thank goodness. We hear them sometimes though and live in fear they found the trail under Kirkwood. We know people over in Nottingham Forest that would like to strangle them!
  15. I hear you on the chain thing! But the food here looks beyond chain quality, plus I like what the company stands for. Its just fun to have something like this go in that makes our neighborhood walkable. After living for a few years where you had to drive 3 miles to just get the basics, this is neat. Also like I said, the proximity to the park will make it fun. I understand they are going to put a pretty good sized bike rack in. PS. You should give Bistro Provence a chance out here one day. Its an awesome comfort, french meal. Its within 1/3 of a mile for us too. We walk up there, get stuffed, drink a couple bottles of wine then waddle home a couple times a month.
  16. Its looking more and more like a Tranformer in Disguise. Oh well, let's hope all the other structures going in down the Corridor look nice.
  17. Re: Outlet Stores Aren't many of the products sold at Outlet stores specifically made for Outlet Stores? Its not really all left over or overstock from the main stores. I remember watching lots of Primetime and 48 Hour reports on this. Like the stuff you find in Saks Off 5th I've never seen in Saks. Needless to say, we stop at the Polo Outlet in San Marcos all the time for the Bath Sheets. Not that they are any cheaper than what they sell for in the main stores. Its the perception that we are getting away with something that makes us stop.
  18. I'm so glad that someone is paying for the important capture of cow methane.
  19. Yes, I have polar bears for children. They have been in for about a month. Its more like jump in , jump out run around like loonies then jump back in for a few minutes and repeat. We don't have a pool heater. We have an old 1970's Anthony Pool that needs repairs monthly. Major pain in the butt. Kids love it, I think it looks like it could make an excellent wine cave. 'Let's just hope the government doesn't get the bright idea to mandate rolling blackouts like they have done in the past. They know what's best for us in a free society you know.
  20. Yes, I mean the neighborhoods of Wilchester, Nottingham Forest, Gaywood etc. We are not really the Villages, but we are still in SBISD and on Memorial, so techinically its still Memorial. But so not to offend the TRUE Memorial Villages, we have been termed West Memorial. Areas west of Dairy Ashford don't seem to be allowed to hold the title "West Memorial," but rather West Houston. I guess that's just too far out? I don't know, just going by what the locals tell me. Trying to assimulate you know. I have heard the Katy association confusion before. Life really was easier when I just could say, Tanglewood. No blurry lines with that one. Egg & I is like a cozy, upscale joint, but serves downhome style fair. I have been told it started in Colorado and grew into a Beck's Prime size chain there.
  21. Isn't that Yao Ming's place? I know he is building in Rivercrest on Westhiemer. He will bring his parents. His restuarant is right across the street.
  22. Probably would have attempted if it was 7-8. that way you can sit outside in the light and enjoy the evening, watch the kids swim, grill, etc. By 8 its too dark outside at this point, and then its too dark inside to read.........so they lost us.
  23. Oh we are all so excited. We can walk to a nice breakfast Sunday morning and then afterwards turn the corner and walk it off on the Terry Hershey Trails. Good to see this area start taking off. I guess all the Class A buildings they are building in the eastern EC are really going to affect much of the commercial around here. PS- Dry Clean Planet, right next to the new Egg & I is some of the best & cheapest dry cleaning and fluff and fold around.
  24. Well, you know I lived there. Pines trees provide no privacy when it comes to the residental areas. Hardwoods do that, and there are none there. In order not to see into your neighbor's house you had to plant a wall. So that's my opinion of the Pine Trees.
  25. Getting off the Westpark and then trying to get over to the 59N lanes is an adventure in itself. I never understand when they expand the freeways and then put single lane interchange ramps.
