  3. They opened up a rooftop bar the top of the parking garage above blackfinn (this is part of the scout square development)
  4. i just noticed a construction fence is being put up, any idea if they landed a tenant? edit: 8,000 total sq ft available. 6K on bottom, 2k on top.
  5. saw some power washing and other cleaning at the site today
  6. Update: They say 8,000 sq feet is leased with 6,000 sq feet still available. Constrution won't start until Q4 2012.
  7. it's not so bad man. Residential spurs retail, and evening retail at that. I think all this low rise residential development will have a big positive impact for in/close to the loop retail, better than office buildings. I also think that while the housing crash has been a drain on the economy, it has had a huge positive impact for those who are looking for a more dense Houston with better retail and walkability.
  8. More renderings of the school and this one says that the parking area will be a 2-level parking structure shared by both schools. "To maximize the open space in this tight urban site, the student and faculty parking is provided in a two-level parking structure between the two schools in a way that both schools can share parking at individual peak periods of use." http://www.tenyearst...rity.org/?p=492
  9. http://www.khou.com/...-144475275.html Nothing new but here is the latest article... "That’s precisely what the Midtown Redevelopment Authority and Camden Development Inc. plan for about half of the 3.5 acre site. Also on the drawing board are sites for two restaurants and a residential development, as well as an underground parking garage for about 140 vehicles." "Construction is expected to begin next spring, Thibodeaux said, and the park should be open in 2014."
  10. "We also snapped Cresa Houston’s Sue Rogers and Brookfield’s Paul Frazier. Paul says there will be an office building announced Downtown this year, but it will need to be 50% preleased. His firm has a 2.5-acre site where it’s planning on building a 900k SF to 1.1M SF building. It needs rents around $31/SF net, but existing buildings are leasing around that level; he expects the rate to trickle to preleasing soon because of the lack of big blocks available." http://www.bisnow.com/real-estate-hou/2012/03/20/the-deal-sheet-427/
  11. Texaco is getting torn down? Anyone know the details of what might be going there? http://swamplot.com/daily-demolition-report-out-of-gas/2012-03-19/#more-38390

  13. interesting blog about the property. http://milhausdevelopment.com/blogs/blog/2012/2/19/mixed-use-development-or-not-in-midtown-houston "In order to complement what the Midtown Redevelopment Authority is planning in the area, we designed the first floor of the building along Gray Avenue, between Austin and La Branch to be built to hold commercial tenants if the demand is ever warranted. Until then, we will locate all of the building’s leasing and club rooms/amenity areas along the street front. It’s not retail, but it will help create a pedestrian experience along Gray Avenue."
  14. No they didn't but things usually move somewhat kick after a variance request right? I know there are always delays, but just sayin... Yes that's the new structure. Looks like they will be adding a "green roof" to the existing structure too.
  15. Variance approved and new rendering... looking good.
  16. haha i have no idea... just relaying what capital retail told me

  20. http://houston.cultu...ston-pavilions/ "Just steps away from the light rail, and down the street from the George R. Brown as well as three nearby stadiums, the studio's street level viewing area is poised to become a destination in itself — akin to the sidewalks outside of NBC's Today Show at Rockefeller Center."
  21. http://blog.chron.co...dios-wednesday/ City, NBC to announce agreement for downtown Comcast SportsNet Houston studios Wednesday "NBC will take another step Wednesday afternoon toward the launch of its Comcast SportsNet regional sports network with a 2 p.m. news conference at the Pavilions, which will house the network’s downtown Houston studios. Matt Hutchings, the network’s general manager, will be on hand with Mayor Annise Parker and officials with the Rockets and Astros, whose games will appear on the network beginning this fall and in the spring of 2013, respectively. The NBC Sports Group was seeking about $2 million in city and state support for studios and office space for the network, which will employ about 125 people." Excellent exposure for downtown H
  22. That is for City Centre Phase II, they are building apartments on 2 lots (one with a dog run) and that parking garage on the lot you are talking about.
  23. yes all of these pictures are of phase III, i have not heard any resolution on phase IV, that lot is currently where the construction trailor is sitting just south of the construction pictures great pictures by the way... i wonder what west gray will look like in 3 years???
  24. "The existing building is to be restored and remodeled for retail uses on the ground floor and offices above. A green roof is being added. A new parking garage will be constructed on the eastern half of the block with a movie theater on the top floor. The garage will provide parking for the existing building as well as for the movie theater, which will operate only at nights and on weekends." This is part of "the Mix @ Midtown" by Crosspoint I am impressed. Baller.
