  1. Thanks. However, I've found D&Q to be over priced, yet had great selection. However, revamped Kroger's and the new HEB have better prices without the great (they have good ) selection. Can anyone hazard a guess where I live?
  2. I was pretty unsure what phase of the project is being constructed, but the garage was facing from me north along Webster St, not to be confused with W. Webster St. I took this picture facing north from Webster and Cushing, right along W Webster St. Map From my angle it seemed the garage was placed between Cushing, W Gray, Valentine, and Webster St. In conclusion, I have no idea what to call this project.
  3. So I live in a weird geographic spot in Houston. I live in the southern most portion of Montrose, where the Museum District and the upper class neighborhoods of South Hampton and Broadmore reside several blocks south. If those words mean nothing to you, then I live a few blocks north off a major freeway (US59) that cuts of the weird, poor, and yuppie from the upper middle class and very wealthy. So I'm starting off my tour from my apartment which has about a hundred units: IMAG0108 by dv1033, on Flickr IMAG0110 by dv1033, on Flickr IMAG0107 by dv1033, on Flickr IMAG0106 by dv1033, on Flickr IMAG0105 by dv1033, on Flickr From my parking lot IMAG0254 by dv1033, on Flickr Alright out into the 'hood and looking down my street IMAG0255 by dv1033, on Flickr Let's get to it IMAG0354 by dv1033, on Flickr IMAG0256 by dv1033, on Flickr IMAG0257 by dv1033, on Flickr IMAG0258 by dv1033, on Flickr IMAG0259 by dv1033, on Flickr These next three pictures are from a building that currently has people living in it, but looks pretty sketchy IMAG0262 by dv1033, on Flickr IMAG0265 by dv1033, on Flickr IMAG0264 by dv1033, on Flickr Some older apartments across the street from the meth lab house or whatever. 4. I'm pretty sure I got my bearings right and this is indeed the phase 4 update as I took these pics from Webster and Cushing. Garage IMAG0218 by dv1033, on Flickr More Garage IMAG0219 by dv1033, on Flickr Apartments IMAG0220 by dv1033, on Flickr
  5. Rode my bike down Taft and took one picture of the construction. Not a particularly great picture or one that really shows a lot of the site, but it is what it is. Most of structure is built, just need to finish the exterior and interior. IMAG0195 by dv1033, on Flickr
  6. More updates from me: IMAG0139 by dv1033, on Flickr IMAG0140 by dv1033, on Flickr IMAG0142 by dv1033, on Flickr IMAG0143 by dv1033, on Flickr IMAG0144 by dv1033, on Flickr IMAG0146 by dv1033, on Flickr
  7. Is that a parking structure connected to the building? Or some sort of retail/amenities component? Or all of the above.
  8. I ride my bike around here quite a bit and utilitarian is a good word to describe it. Once this thing is complete, unless you knew the expansion happened, you would probably assume the HMNS has always been this big.
  9. Pics I took while on a bike ride today: IMAG0127 by dv1033, on Flickr IMAG0128 by dv1033, on Flickr IMAG0129 by dv1033, on Flickr IMAG0130 by dv1033, on Flickr IMAG0135 by dv1033, on Flickr IMAG0136 by dv1033, on Flickr It's not groundbreaking or interesting by any means but it really "fits" in.
  10. Here's some pics from late January of the progress: All pics are mine AshtonRiceVillageGarage2 by dv1033, on Flickr AshtonRiceVillageGarage3 by dv1033, on Flickr
  11. So Camden has two new Midtown projects in the works? One near the light rail and the other in the NW side of Midtown? Or am I off?
  12. Ah makes sense. They have employees park off site at the Buffalo HEB, but eventually secured a permanent off site employee parking lot.
  13. Oh well. Boring and uninspired is better than not adding this building.
  14. Exxon Mobil video with some awesome campus shots I saw on skyscraper forums: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KsGjX1hhf0k
  15. Lately I've seen workers doing what I assume are surveying and taking measurements (not too familiar with the development process) on what appears to be the phase 2 part (fronting RIchmond). Anyone hear about phase two starting up?
  16. Neat. I had always imagine how this particular intersection/area could be redeveloped.
  17. God I hope so, that would just look embarrassing if they wrapped that apartment complex around the auto shop. But hey, I like the infill happening in Midtown right now.
  18. The area may have some very nice single family neighborhoods but this stretch of Bering is nothing but multifamily housing. Kick ass looking pool.
  19. I believe there is another thread out there about this project with renderings but perhaps it'll be found and merged. As someone who enjoys and frequents Rice Village, I can't wait for this. This is one of the better pedestrian and bike accessible "activity centers" or whatever you want to call it and this is a large step in the right direction. All it would need now would be some small independent grocer. I'm going with this is sarcasm. However, Kirby has almost been entirely upgraded between Braeswood and Westheimer (they're still working in the section roughly between Bissonnet and Richmond) with wider sidewalks and increased . While, it isn't avante garde urbanism, it is functional and appropriate for what kind of pedestrian environment currently exists and what can exist.
  20. Perhaps they are going to convert the surface lot into more apartment on the Costco/LAFitness/residence development.
