this is an absolute joke... these bastards are no different than those in river oaks (highrises throughout) and tanglewood (the four leaf towers and four post oak are practically in our backyard).

btw, i read that article last night and i dont even know why futureman said it "sounds like it might be part of that development," because Lisa Lambert specifically says they're planning on adding a hotel on the Continental Club's development; however, the CC hotel is strictly in the conceptual stage. her planned hotel in montrose near the menil is in the actual design stage and is much further along. either way, pretty exciting for both areas.... main street seems to be on the verge of some real solid development. bout damn time, too.

probably this part: but it was buried deep within Futureman's outlandishly long post, so i could see how you missed it.

they're pouring the concrete for the foundation june 7th @ 8am... 850 trucks pouring 7500 cubic yards of concrete. there will be multiple platforms for viewing, as well as complimentary coffee and donuts. the video presentation is pretty neat.

one would have to take this as a very good omen... and the ritz is definitely in the 50+ story range, which is fantastic (if true). i guess they scrapped the 3rd residential tower? either way, i'm excited to see some daring architecture - at least for houston.

cant vouch for the rest of your post (which is just specualtion anyways... and which niche just refuted ), but i've been told the exact same thing regarding the turnberry - off the table. and for some reason that doesn't bother me one bit... it was hardly inspiring, extraordinarily expensive, and was not creating the amount of buzz necessary to move units. but this camden project - if niche is correct (and i'm not doubting it at all) - is a pretty exciting development for midtown.

ed is way behind schedule on this, and that's not a good thing. tenants have the right to jump ship if the agreed upon timetables aren't being met and as of now they are most definitely not. no word on the ritz, but this is a real concern for some of the other tenants.

i'm not hearing alot of positive things regarding the pavillion's ability to fill their retail and office space... -
that's great news. wonder what the word is on the ritz... if they're still in, one has to imagine that they'll want to go taller than any other building at BLVD Place. i'd gladly accept a 45 story ritz.

is it just me or does the scope of the project seem much smaller in this new rendering? the report says it's remaining at 24 acres, but the original siteplan looks to encompass a much larger tract of land. regardless, this is still a very exciting project... fantastic location.- 1,531 replies

the current renderings of the gateway building (5 allen center) would be a stellar addition to downtown's skyline. i dont have any confirmation on whether or not it's gonna happen, but somebody gave me a "90% chance" that it gets built. better than nothing. if we could get Discovery Tower, MainPlace, 6 Houston Center, Hines North, and 5 Allen Center all built w/in the next 5 years.... i'd say that's pretty damn impressive.

not to sound like an ass or anything, but is this really a hard concept to grasp? the building was designed to lean slightly outward over kirby.
