  1. What irony. I lived in West LA around 1989 and that was a decent area, true. However I 1st lived in Venice and wow did it get funky. Most kids go straight into the gangsta lifestyle ie; V13, Crips, etc. I miss LA but not all that garbage.
  2. I always thought T-Shirt slogans were Ok but were sure to go overboard. I recall seeing a girl with a shirt that read "poon-tang" on the front. Like do you really need to emblazon it? There was one guy that used to wear a tshirt to school that read "crabs are for everyone" with tiny little insects all over...that really creeped us all out.
  3. I am surprised that LA isn't at the top of the list? This city is no place for a child. LA is truly geared towards the entertainment industry or rather adults, single or couples but no place for kids. Have personal stories that can attest but trust me on this one.
  4. A dreaded time for many longtime Houston born/raised citizens. All the fake cowboy and gals emerge ie; designer jeans, boots, 10 gallon hats. When it blows over all the garb goes to storage? Donate it people. Yeahahhh! I best go back to choppin cotton & bailing hay y'all.
  5. It's a miracle what they have done with that BIG 2 story home on Broadmoor/Sharpe is it? One block in from 45 rather. That was "given away" for a mere $40,000.00. Been talking with the ones remodeling, has 4 brms & 3 restrooms, very rare buy for the area. I hope a professional group of folks/family move in. To hell with renting this is prime location people!
  6. Any time, any place...Madre Santa! http://www.eluniversal.com.mx/img/2009/02/...nelopeoscar.jpg as mentioned, almost every simgle lady present was delightfully hot!
  7. Worth watching just to worship Penelope Cruz...la mejor actriz Espa
  8. I am trying to stay on topic but in the thought of billboard advertisments. It is very creepy seeing a nearly naked, provocative young woman advertising a "men's club" directly in front of a church. Her back arched, etc. and just nearby is a church that used to be a "all nude" strip club just a year earlier. Wild isn't it. One day it's lap dancing, and next its a pew. This one is over in League City on 45. Guess this one goes under creepy/bizarre/hilarious...or a new skit for Mad TV.
  9. This insane story of that jerk falling out the window gave me a great idea. Perhaps as a club theme idea when the party is really cranking, the employees should toss out dummies out of the windows! Bet it would make headlines ie; Youtube, ET, Extra, etc. and the news did call that specific Main street club "Montrose" ...cracked me up...
  10. or it might be better be refered to as a "Douchbag party." Mazal tov!
  11. That building has always had such a stately presence. It always seemed or at least I assumed it was a very classy, elegant and expensive place. Went to a gathering there a few months ago and was not impressed at all. Perhaps it was lavish when it opened? Maybe the clientele is what changed it? Oh well, bet this one bite's the dust like most Houston icon's...Rat's
  12. This topic reminds me of a pizza place in LA. The sign up on top read "Had a piece lately", then under it said we have some of the best in town, etc. Anything with Viagra as a pitch is about as crass as it gets. There are some race cars racing around with BIG viagra advertisments on the side. Limp.
  13. Yes, those brightly painted columns are fading slowly but surely. One of those huge mega gas stations like Buc-cee's would be perfect here. I break for Beaver's!
  14. Most ignored story locally was Hurricane Ike damage/wreckage to Houston's less affluent area's of the city. Big time.
  15. Yep, cracks me up "Look what I can do" Best part is when he kicks everyone away. I had a cousin exactly like him when we were kids. Lord only knows what became of him. The show started loosing a bit of steam when they kept changing and bringing in new characters, not nearly as funny as originals.

  17. The best part was the homage to Jerry Lewis and his lifetime of work on and off the screen. His thanks to the industry was truly sincere.
  18. That small structure is still there! I barely remember eating there as a kid. It is just about a block away from the old Brookline Rentals place, also still in business after all these decades! Thats where everyone could rent whatever it took to unclog the can!
  19. They need to open a Worksource location with everyone loosing their jobs DT it would be of some help.
  20. Clown X get's what loooooong over due.
  21. All I can say is each one of the ladies present were sultry and hot! Looks like Slum Dog got it though!
  22. Any one need a job? The new Burger King is ready for a grand opening.
  23. John Ramsey ? He never showed any human emotion when questioned about his little daughter.
  24. You got my vote! and the winner is......
  25. Perhaps the Canada Dry business was there when we moved in vicinity in 1968, but we must have never paid attention. That back street warehouse area was always so gloomy and quiet to notice. All you ever saw were delivery trucks headed for that distribution area. These specific warehouse property/s have always been prime location/visibility for new developement. It's a miracle its been so overlooked for decades?
