  1. Event fencing should come down by tomorrow but the gates are now open! They cleaned a lot faster than they thought
  2. Tried the coffee today and it’s a nice space. Great landscaping. Coffee is good even though it seems barista has only made coffee 3 days and really glad to hear they bake every pastry in house! sad that the parking lot is what welcomes you to the space but that’s just how the building was before this project.
  3. Three adjacent lots owned by the same person: 801 W 11th St - empty lot (used to be mechanic shop) now leased by Loro for parking 804 W 11th St - blue little house (up for lease sign) 720 W 11th St - Heights Clinic Does anybody know if there are any cool plans for this powerhouse of a corner?
  4. Not another chicken sandwich place. Feels like a practical joke at this point loll .
  5. Go sit at EQ Heights and tell me you see zero bikers
  6. Any updates on this one? Also I think the address is 3220
  7. Company of Nomads was managing the food hall leasing it out from East Park. after CoN couldn’t make payments anymore, Easy Park did away with them and brought their own management team. Now in addition to automated parking garages and property management, they’re getting into the food hall management business. now, I have a friend that leases a space at railway heights and he told me the new management company has “many plans” for the food hall. One of which is to bring in a brewery that would bring in a more steady flow of customers. Each tenant was evaluated and only some were asked to renew for another year. Those that weren’t so lucky are going to be replaced
  8. This isnt the first time I hear of this concern due to environmental cleanup, but never from TxDOT themselves. I've had a few meetings with TxDOT about making the area into a park with more defined trails and other amenities such as boardwalks, amphitheaters on the banks, etc. Their Director of Hydrology approves any use that does not affect the volume capacity of the basin. Of course, they approve of the project so long as someone else is maintaining it - this is the tricky part. They have not expressed any environmental concerns.. Maybe he doesnt know about them? Or is it possible that after 10 years of filtering rain water, the ground may have remediated much of the impact 🤪?
  9. I can’t believe that they have parking both on the side of Studewood and facing the trail!! Such disregard. This development could have easily been integrated right onto the trail with some walk up stairs or switchbacks
  10. Sadly it looks like they've pushed the grand opening to sometime next year
  11. Heard from somebody that this property will/has change/d hands and the new developers are seeking a roadway extension of W 6th St across the detention pond. Can anyone do some magic to find out any proof of this? My take is that there should be a connection across West 6th St on the detention pond but they should be boardwalk style and for pedestrians only.
  12. City of Houston has applied for federal funding to reduce driving lanes to one on each direction as well as protected bike lanes on West Gray. From Shepherd to Waugh
  13. What’s this website that shows property lines and owner info?
  14. The Uptown TIRZ and Management District has been working with Memorial Park Conservancy for several years to advance this project forward. Personally, I don’t have any intel on the state of the progress, but individual people can make a difference. Bayou Greenways was once a proposal. Now there are hundreds of miles of trails along the bayous. It takes people like you and me to push the needle. Make connections, contact our politicians and let them know these plans exist, that they are possible, and that the community wants them
  15. Houston Parks Board released this document called "Beyond the Bayous" a few years ago. The idea is that while we have a great trail system along 9 bayous, we need to connect them using rail trails, utility corridors, on-street bikeways and neighborhood streets https://houstonparksboard.org/about/beyond-the-bayous Extend MKT Trail Westward to Hempstead (and toward Northwest transit center) Bend around the railroad junction and across I-10 Join Memorial Park trail adjacent to railroad New Buffalo Bayou pedestrian bridge Trails along utility corridor all the way to Westpark Connecting to Newcastle trail south
  16. Spoke too quickly looks like Ryde is going in there Project Details Project No: 22051447 Date : 2022/06/28 00:00:00 USE : 4,593 SF CYCLING EXERCISE STUDIO BUILDOU Owner/Occupant : *2B INVESTMENTS LLC Job Address : 402 W 11TH ST 77008
  17. Looks like a two story structure is going up in here. Anyone know what it will be?
  18. Is it me or does that corridor along the railroad look really lush on the renderings? I wonder if these developers are aware that there are plans to lay down a hike and bike trail along this corridor that will eventually cross into Memorial Park. And if they aren’t, would they put any skin into the game (funding) to make it a reality faster?
  19. So no retail? Please God, don’t let it be another drive through like Common Bond
  20. Great bike racks, great food, great pecan pie
