  1. I bet East End Backyard will have something sports-related. Same owner as Pitch25 who's making $$$$$ capitalizing off of sports events.
  2. Ronin confirmed they + Night Shift bar will be two separate entities. Great add to the area, especially with night + weekend rentals. Hopefully this will bring some life to the area after dark.
  3. Apparently Ronin will occupy the majority of this space as an event venue. Curious how this will work with the Night Shift bar group. Looks like they'll be the exclusive provider of catering and cocktails, but hopefully Night Shift will maintain a standalone bar. https://www.nextseed.com/offerings/ronin-harrisburg#top-things-to-know
  4. The majority of the original Fingers has been demolished. I would say at least 75-80% is gone.
  5. Anyone have updates on the progression of this project? Was hoping to hear news of groundbreaking by now.
  6. What is the new building for that @HoustonMidtown posted? Will this also be part of the Soccer Shots group or a separate development?
  7. Saw a sign from Ancorian in front of the blue building on the corner of McKinney + Palmer Street. Any idea what this will be? Ancorian's website doesn't have it listed.
  8. I thought the same thing. Here's a better photo of the new facade.
  9. Window bars removed and pretty new doors/windows installed:
  10. Milby Food Market looks like it got a facelift: New paint & wood paneling with a sign for "J's Deli and Bodega". Can't find any info about the company online.
  11. @linearmovement they're not open yet. I reached out last week and they said "not yet but getting close". Their instagram shows that they're still working on internal build and remodel. I'm assuming it'll be a month or two more at least. IG: @oso.coffee
  12. The short answer is no. There's a lot of friction with the East End being referred to as the "dumping ground" for affordable housing options. In my opinion, any development is better than no development. Though it does seem like overkill along the Harrisburg corridor.
  13. "Scott Street Lofts, located at 1320 Scott Street will be a 123-unit apartment development for seniors." per Houston Chronicle. Looks like there are four new mixed-income apartment complexes going up in and around the East Downtown/East End area.
  14. Looks like new apartments will be going up on the lot enclosed by Scott/Sampson/Clay/Denver streets where the old Ever Good Imports warehouse currently stands. HCAD lists the property as owned by Toorak Investments since 2010. May be better for "Going Up!" page.
  15. @phillip_white, I read that on their website, but the main page (www.kaldis.com) also says "pre-leasing for 2020", so I'm holding out hope that's wording to make it sound more alluring and not confirmation that is in fact a coworking space.
  16. I have a feeling it'll be another co-working space. So many in the area with these large buildings in random locations.
  17. If that's the case, should we separate these posts to create a "Save the East End" post to discuss the impact of the HHA dealings, legislation, and afforable/mixed/low-income developments in the area?
  18. Can you explain the impact of the firing on the East River development? I've seen news about the legislation against the TxDOT/COH approvals of the low income housing, but curious what this means for the KBR/East River site. Thanks!
  19. Building permit in the window says the refurbishments are to change it into a bar.
