  1. Actually it is going to be rather large. From pictures it doesn't seem to be large at all. But if you see this thing in person, you would be suprised. (It is no Central Park, but we don't need a Central Park in Houston)
  2. I use DART all the time when I am in my Dallas office, believe me it is jampacked during rush hours. -- I remember last year my family wanted to use it to go to the west side area, and it had quite a few people (that didn't seem dependant on mass transit)
  3. wait! I thought they were building a parking garage, not using an existing one! Can anyone confirm this? I thought the parking garage was going to be the lot closest to the Hilton Hotel. Nvm, I looked at the renderings of the new version and it looks like they are using the existing parking garage already in place.
  4. I haven't seen any activity in this building (except cars coming and going, as it is still a garage). The building right next to it seems to be going through a renovation.
  5. ~ wow ~ Very ugly. What is the need for having such a portico? Does he have 18 wheelers parked there alot?
  6. Ask someone who works on the top floor if their office drawers are always opening I remember when I was working in the Wells Fargo Plaza Building (33rd floor), my first week in my office a storm came through and my drawers were opening, and it sounded as if I were in a ship. I remember it got so bad they closed the elevators and made people take the stairs (I did not, I waited it out).
  7. I am guessing someone in their family was transfered here for work, and that persons spouse is part of that restaurant family, and decided to open one up here. I know it is far fetched!
  8. I have gone into Wal-mart maybe twice ever in my life... My mom would always complain that she wouldn't shop there and I would always tease her about it. One day I did go into a Wal-mart after spending ten minutes trying to find a place to park. I walk in and it is very very noisy. Not very clean (stuff all in the isles and such). Well after all that I get to the check out! WOW -- I left -- I was not going to wait in line that long. Needless to say Target is more for me! quiet and friendly. Not to mention there isn't a Wal-mart near downtown. The new Target is really nice though. Also there is one thing that Target has that Wal-Mart doesn't, Downy Wrinkle Releaser (IT IS A GODSEND).
  9. Wells Fargo Plaza has three levels of parking underground. I use to park there for about 300+ a month. My mother was at a different firm in the same building and paid 400+ for reserved a month.
  10. This thread is retarded (saying this while I am laughing) LOL @ cracker sausage fest! I am white, sometimes I am red -.- depends on when I go sailing (and by sailing I mean sitting all weekend and drinking while someone else is sailing)
  11. "The Beat" Channel on Sirus is badass. It keeps me going at gym everyday! Covino and Rich on Maxim are pretty good as well ~ I miss The Bower Show though!
  12. Grew up in Pearland, but live Downtown, I have for the past 5 years ~ I am thinking of moving to the Galleria area now (but not having to sit in traffic is holding me off)
  13. It is funny how River Oaks is higher than the others (besides "Other") ~ I think if you have lived in River Oaks and pay the god-awful taxes you would think otherwise. Downtown Houston taxes are a bit high compared to the suburbs, but it is manageable. I picked Tahiti ~ I love the US and Houston ~ but I am sick of the US ~ Tahiti or Australia please! Commerce Towers is very nice (I wish the area was "clean" though)
  14. 6 Houston will not be on the Park. 6 Houston will be connected directly to 1 and 2 Houston via skywalk (well at least that is what Crescent said in the memo I received) which is a few blocks behind 5 Houston and Fulbright Tower. Currently I am in 5 Houston. The only location I can see this happening is between San Jacinto/Caroline and Rusk/Walker, which is a Parking lot at the moment.
  15. Main Street, between Dallas and Lamar (Across from Macy's) -- I live near this and see it everyday! That corner is awful!
  16. I think, I can't really remember, but someone once told me it was a radio station of some kind!
  17. First thing they need to do is get rid the urine and chicken smell on that corner. GROSS! I visited Portland recently! wow their downtown is really developing. I was very very impressed with their use of using existing buildings and building stores in them, rather than tear them down. I think Houston downtown developers should go take a look!
  18. I don't think there is a "racial component" at least not for Pearland. I think it is more of a $$$$ component. I lived in Pearland and graduated from Pearland High School, it is weird though, but I never worried about someones race. Hell, in pearland the majority of my black friends had bigger and nicer homes, cars, etc. than most people I knew in Pearland. FYI I don't like what Pearland has become. Broadway is horrible as is Dixie Farm Road. I liked the old Pearland ; ; was a close community back then!
  19. Potbelly is alright, I don't remember them being greasy. I know they melt the cheese. Their shakes are really good. I am hooked to Salata at the moment at The Houston Center (aka Park Shops). Their wraps are awesome.
  20. Sunnyvale haha, yeah the homes looked the same. I remember as a kid my brother and I would goto the golf course and would play in the sand trap. I was like "ooooh look free golf balls". Then this old man with his club came after us. LOL my brother and I still laugh to this day. Didn't know the game of golf when we were 5 and 8. Just saw a ball there with no one playing with and took it.
