  1. the employees at houston camera exchange are haute at anyone they suspect is not a uber professional photographer and the employees at wolf/ ritz camera don't know what professionalism is.
  2. religious nutters make me laugh.
  3. did eatzi's reopen somewhere else while this is going on? yeah, i drove by that strip center and it looked pretty desolate.
  4. haven't been in a few years but plan to this year.
  5. i'm sure i won't pick up an alcohol and meth addiction if atlanta were to overtake us in population someday.
  6. not a big deal. she's a an exotic dancer who put down model instead. not really that much of a stretch; it's not like she said she was a pharmacist or accountant. i'm sure disclosing the fact that she is a stripper, she has run into a lot of closed doors. rather than getting bent out of shape because of this lie, realize that she is just trying to survive and giv her the benefit of the doubt.
  7. the kool-aid drinking, angry, pat robertson types.
  8. nice pics and welcome to the party. it's BYOB so bring a case of heineken...
  9. God: agnostic Gays: it's not a choice; give them their equal rights. Genetics: yay for stem cell research. Airlines: continental and air france all the way. jetblue and NWA: two thumbs down.
  10. for a major newspaper, the houston barnacle does leave much to be desired. midtwoncoog is right...doubt you would see the titty bar homage to anna nicole smith on the front page of the NYT or LA times.
  11. i live right around the corner and noticed the surface lot just to the west of that walgreens was fenced in with construction equipment sitting there. note the L shaped lot around walgreens:
  12. i'm atheist/ agnostic/ non-religious/ un-churched or whatever the hell you call it but i find removing god from the in-flight movies pointless and insulting. also, aren't these airlines hurting financially? wise thing would not be to alienate biggest potential customer base.
  13. these are hella good. the first pic in your second post is ace.
  14. despite it's historical value, it's still an aging apartment complex. i'm surprised no one has redeveloped the land where my apartment complex is; creole at yorktown in galleria area.
  15. in the NL, there is actually a car even smaller than the smart 4-2 but it's maxes out at 45 kmph and isn't allowed on highways...only the city.
  16. st. martins: the galleria area the catholic church: downtown (hurry up before they tear it down for parking for the one currently u/c) church near minute maid park (not sure of denomination) church/ cathedral kitty corner to fine arts museum. (not sure of denomination) first united methodist: downtown (near exxon building) unity (hilcroft area...big pyramid thingie) church next door to enron building. that STL church reminds me of st. pauls in london.
  17. but this is new york not houston...they place a higher value on history. houston is infamous for allowing just about anything to be bulldozed in the name of progress.
  18. downtown just doesn't do it for me anymore...most of the clubs cater to the 20-something crowd and not enough choice in where to go. most of the clubs/ bars are the plastic studio 54 wanna-be's or hip-hop clubs. if i go, i prefer the pizza joint next door to cabo or hardrock. although, i did go to this hip-hop club on the corner (had fenced in patio) a while back and ended up dancing with these hot twins. that was cool.

    salary?

i was a drafter for 9 years (until last year) and never made anything near 45 grand. not even 40K.
  20. there is more to this than economics. read the article. same reason why towns like katy don't want buses or commuter rail.
