Complaints About How Bicycles Act On The Roads
ricco67 replied to heights's topic in Traffic and Transportation
Recently, I had one guy blow a light and if I didn't slam on the brakes, he would be been an ornament on my car. I blew my horn at him and had the "gumption" to flip me off. Never has road rage seemed like a viable option with that jerk. -
Don't avoid the Texans, they're undefeated this season so far. This is going to be interesting to follow. What threw me off is they are going to be able to transfer trains from one line to another as the need arises.

BLVD Place Mixed-Use: 1700 Post Oak Blvd.
ricco67 replied to Subdude's topic in Uptown and Galleria Area
I'm a bit irritated at the start of the construction. Was going to do a photo shoot at the corner of Post Oak lane @ San Felipe. There was a Ceramic style Bench/couch that I wanted to use. It made me sad. Actually, I cursed for a couple of hours.- 2,416 replies

I just saw this in the news and since someone posted here, I figured it was enough: San Francisco is testing out 220sq ft. apartments. Since everyone knows living there is insanely expensive, they hope this will allow a single person to afford their own place. I don't recall the size of the smallest apartment I lived in, (400sq?) but man, that does sound tiny. That's like Tokyo tiny.

I heard it take off this morning, I was bummed that I missed it.

Holy cow! my lenses must have gotten dirty while I was changing them there. Had to do some serious retouching. I took some pics of the distance I had to walk (Scarsdale @ HW3) to the place and I still beat the vehicles stuck on the highway. I tired....here's some photos. I was mildly jealous of the guy in the wheelchair. I was curious where he parked, but he was truckin' over that field!

I'm done got plenty of pictures to post later when I get home. Now top walk back to the car on hwy 3.
-
I went parking on Highway 3 and then walking my way in the 2 miles I'm so passing traffic
-
Made my gf giggle when I told her,"arr! Your booty shivers my timbers!"
-
I'm on hwy 3 trying to get there. Traffic is horrid.

I would think so, but I think quite a few people would take exception to people using that particular location now.

What the hell? I was driving down Webster and I saw two copters REALLY low. I quickly rushed to a parking lot and pulled out my camera. When I got myself out of the car for the shot, they were out of view, when I finally spotted them, I was only able to snap off a couple of shots, this being the best one. Thinking they were going to land, I thought of the best route I could take since they were heading towards the bayou, but they continued down West Gray. Anyone know why they would fly that low?

In case you didn't realize it by now, but I took a few photos this weekend. Here is the construction that RSB mentioned, I've been meaning to stop by to get a photo before the area started work on the station there. Any word on the super station yet?

I got a couple of new overhead pics of the I-45/Scott crossing. Couldn't find where I had posted them, so I figured I'd repost them here. Before: and currently (as of today's date):

GreenStreet: Mixed-Use Development At 1201 Fannin St.
ricco67 replied to MontroseNeighborhoodCafe's topic in Downtown
Agreed, IT is a pressure cooker of a job, but when a trader's computer goes down, it has to be done and fixed right then. Literally money is flying before their eyes if a computer has a SNAFU and all eyes are on you. No thanks. -
GreenStreet: Mixed-Use Development At 1201 Fannin St.
ricco67 replied to MontroseNeighborhoodCafe's topic in Downtown
They hire IT people, but from what I was told, it is a serious pressure cooker of a job. They almost hired me, but I bailed after watching how they operated. They couldn't pay me enough. -
I think that the old slots that are closest to the new development will be at an advantage by the additional traffic and relatively lower rents, particularly if they recently renewed their leases.

I-45 Rebuild (North Houston Highway Improvement Project)
ricco67 replied to ToryGattis's topic in Traffic and Transportation
I agree, it is interesting, but an accident doesn't have to occur in the roundabout to screw things up. A sizable accident on ONE of the outbound freeways could spell disaster- 3,370 replies

any bets on the location? I'm betting a penny on the block at West Main, Kirby, Colquit, and Lake Streets. There just aren't that many sizable pieces of land that people would be willing to part with. I wouldn't doubt if the current location of "Roak" might be swallowed up. The club has been open for a bit over a year and probably has made its money by now and is probably starting to wane.

Before I get to the convention, I was disappointed in the coverage on the radio. Since I live in purgatory, I had a substantial drive to get home and I was listening to 92.1 for a bit, but I realized they were talking over the various speakers. It was only as I was passing downtown that I got frustrated and hit every. single. channel until I found one that did it uninterrupted. Anyway, Ann Romney's speech was OK in my opinion. I wished she would have gotten into more details on his struggles and trials in his businesses and marriages. The Christie speech was a bit of a let down, but I wasn't expecting a massive tirade like Pat Buchanan's speech back in 92 either. Overall, neither speech changed my opinion in one way or another. One thing that really irritated me was the fact that, according to drudge's list of articles, no one of color is REALLY in the GOP.

Photography: tips, tricks and equipment!
ricco67 replied to samagon's topic in Photographing Houston
Even at a texan game, I didn't have problems shooting without a flash. Yes. The equipment is that awesome. Saw an article about what they carry, and some of the lenses alone were in the ten grand range.
