  1. Yeah I know its good marketing... But I think its funny, I kinda have to "Ppppfff" when I hear it. I couldn't help but laugh when he started talking...
  2. Is that empty half block full of concrete blocks the site of the original shamrock? Anyways, a big project like this would probibly take alot of time to get built. Expecially a big retail development, with a sketchy market. There probibly trying to make sure that alot of space is already leased before it goes up. Even if this doesn't go up, something like it in the future will. Uptown (Galleria Area) Is becoming such a hot spot, the Galleria won't be enough anymore. I think that area's the most populated as well? +200,000 or something?
  3. "With Houston fast becoming one of the epicenters for high design and style in the country, Cosmopolitian is poised to make its mark." AAAAhahahaha! don't make me PUKE. But the names of the different types of rooms are very "Cosmo". Oh well, its nice, don't get me wrong, but sometimes they can over due it.
  4. Isn't that really close to the "Amtrak" Station?
  5. Yeah... Thats it, I wasn't sure, I drive past it every other day, and I miss the sign each time.
  6. Does anyone have a rendering of the project going up off of Memorial Drive, by Asbury Place?
  7. Future developement in the Reliant Park? I am not sure. But they didn't renue the lease, leading Astroworld with no parking. So, six flags decided to close this park, (because) what park would you pick to close? Hm, texas already has 3, oh well Houston's won't have parking, and we can't afford to build a parking lot.
  8. I think that its good Austin is going for alot of Mid-Rises, and not just one, or two, High-rises. There planning it well, I like how its Skyline isn't super tall or giant. Alot of Little Buildings looks better then just one big one.
  9. Parking would be an issue. One reason A-World is closing, is because Reliant Park wouldn't renue the Parking contract. There has to be something going on at Reliant Park for them not to, perhaps a bigger picture?
  10. Well folks, the problem is not with City Hall. (Well, not the main problem.) Its the Buildings that decide to light up, maybe city hall askes them to do something special, say, christmas or whatever, but city hall does not control the switch. And city hall has strict rules about adverstising, and lights on buildings, if I remember. If you write to city hall, ask them, to ask the building's managers to do something. City Hall can't force the companies to "Light Up". But, if City Hall got up about the issue, they could say "Look guys, lets make Downtown, "Downtown" again.." I noticed all the box buildings we have Downtown light up with the bulbs. (Houston Center 1&2, Fullbright Tower, First City Tower, JPMCT, etc.) Thats basically half of Downtown. Thats an ugly half.
  11. Its so sad. It really doesn't seem like the park is closing, it feels like it will be open again next season. And I don't think anyone will buy the park. I wish they would send all the rides to Fiesta Texas in San Antonio, they only have 2 good rides there, and there usually broken or closed. I can't belive there closed. Its rediculous. 12. Redstone projects? I'll probibly getting some prochures in the mail from the Houstonian... I got a bunch of c.r.a.p. when the redstone was* building a condo building on the Houstonian complex. Infact, I still have the tube-o-renderings and posters of the building.
  13. That area is covered with people who harras me everytime I'm there. If I don't give them money, they spit on me, and curse like god doesn't exsist. Infact, I had to -run- away from one of them, who basically threatened me. I let an HPD horsie know about em'. *I hate to say it, but I think there from Katrina.
  14. I don't understand why people think cost is an issue... Its like keeping a large neon sign on all night, much like a store or somthing would. There just lights, not State of the art, $10,000.00 a second lasers.
  15. The buildings use to have Spot Lights from the base, shinning up along the corners, and the buildings overall. I'm tires of the Neon Lights being our only hope for a lit up Skyline. Except, the Neon on WFP should stay, its suits the facade like a glove. And the bulbs on the BOA should be on all the time, and not just X-mas. What if we just flooded The mayors office, to push companies to light up Downtown? The sweeping Becon on the Williams Tower, loures lookers to the Galleria Area. What loures eyes to Downtown? Nothing...
  16. Of corse its lit up! but its not vegas. Wells Fargo Plaza has the white neon outlining the top. The JP Morgan Chase Tower has the (ugly!) christmas like bulbs lining the top as well. And Heritage Plaza had the Astro's star in the middle of it the other night. The Continental Building has the logo ontop, and the South Enron Building has its own thing going on. edit: On another note, I like the way its "quiet" at night. (The Skyline). The Neon the Wells Fargo Plaza gives it a cool feel. It looks best from Montrose, when you can't see the top of the JPMCT, because I really dislike the bulbs ontop.
  17. Our offices at Louisiana Place faced down Louisiana Street... and the Sheraton, but I never actually thought too much of it when we where in that office.
  18. I think if they would have been built, everyone would have been use to them. And I think the Liberty Place would have been differnt, because it was basically designed after it.
  19. Take a look at the BoTSWT + Block 265 from the newspaper... http://tinypic.com/view.html?pic=2d3lp0
