  1. Also, Mendocino Farms posted a slew of openings for their Rice Village location yesterday. I think we knew this, but it is in suite 120.
  2. The thought that there is a sliver of a chance Aladdin is going away makes me pretty sad :(
  3. Looks like another restaurant coming to Rice Village nate, does the general public have the ability to view the further details on the permits like you have attached? I can't for the life of me figure out how to view this from the weekly reports.
  4. I've come pretty close to closing the slip lane myself by blocking it and putting a bench in 😄 I don't know why Bagby gets so wide at Westheimer right there. It is incredibly awkward. It took me loudly complaining for nearly two months to have lane striping put in after the reconstruction. The official answer I got was that the contractors were supposed to do it and didn't. It was a freaking mess.
  5. It is a private park so they can do just about whatever they want. Same reason why Buffalo Bayou Park Conservancy can drive gas-powered golf carts around while they are banned for the general public.
  6. Final proposal from CoH is out. Construction to happen summer 2021. https://houstonbikeplan.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/Patterson-Street-Bikeway-011421.pdf The highlight is that Washington will not allow turns across traffic onto Patterson from either direction:
  7. The people that were running the scooter rental at Discovery Green have moved to.... Buffalo Bayou Park. The one other place that they are specifically excluded, lol. There is a scooter shop in EaDo, and it looks to be them that are renting them.
  8. I'm counting 32 stories on the tallest structure. Also, kind of interesting that they have a 10 story building sketched in for the Kroger parking lot.
  9. Edit: As mentioned below, this was designed for a previous owner. Is this what is planned? https://www.perkinseastman.com/projects/heart-of-montrose/ The city is clearly desperate to try to have someone else foot part of the bill. When it was pulled from CIP they said that they would add it back when HGAC had a call for projects again.
  10. I honestly can't imagine that they are ADA accessible. Edit: I emailed Gabe at the Mayor's office for people with disabilities to get his thoughts. Edit2: Gabe said that his team would investigate for any ADA issues.
  11. I'm not disagreeing, I'm just saying it is really starting to look out of place with MC right behind it. Will probably feel that way even more so when the library building is built.
  12. The more I look at this building, the more I realize how much work this intersection needs. I love love Aladdin, but we basically need another one of these to take up that whole corner.
  13. Microsoft signed as "major tenant" https://www.houstonchronicle.com/business/article/Microsoft-signs-on-as-major-tenant-at-the-15811801.php
  14. When I was looking at their website after they announced several weren't for sale until April 19. It is showing 12th for all now. 👍
  15. Southwest announced service! Starts 4/12 or 4/19 depending on route Chicago (Midway) Dallas (Love) Denver Nashville New Orleans
  16. TXDOT's budget is now only about 1/4 use taxes (gas/registration/etc). The rest comes from federal taxes and other TX-based taxes.
  17. There is a weekly Plat and Permit report that they email out, too (that is where I get my info). You can signup here: https://www.houstontx.gov/planning/DevelopRegs/dev_reports.html
  18. 9,945 SQFT restaurant remodel permit issued
  19. Someone trying to get a building permit? I don't know exactly what this is, but was on the Permit Report
  20. I can't find it, but I read something on Twitter that it was going to take a few weeks to iron some things out/get barricades/etc. I'm sure it'll basically just appear overnight at some point.
  21. Update: not legal. They have a permit for a lane closure on Dennis for construction material delivery, but they aren't allowed to restrict public street parking just so that they have a place to park.
  22. Very interesting. Thanks for the update! I guess the United bus to Beaumont is truly dead
