  1. Fair share of state funding would be ALL (not just UH) state schools getting a portion of the PUF fund respective to their enrollment. I think it is best for me just to stop coming to this thread seeing nothing involving the actual development is being discussed.
  2. It does seem a bit excessive, especially since there are only like 3 more floors left.
  3. You mean the exact concept of the TMC 3? And as a current UH student if this truly is just a research campus then I'm all for it. I think most politicians are upset that UT went behind their back and in-essence ignored proper procedures.
  4. I was wondering when someting would be put on that lot. Seems t have some good potential.
  5. In the end no one going to change anyone's opinions, both sides see each other as irrational and we have absolutely no say in this. Just my two cents.
  6. Now that you say that this does seem to be taking a long time.
  7. Could we as a community possibly petition this developer to hold to a certain level of architecture? I'm not talking about taking them to court but at least saying "hey can you please not build the crap you usually build."
  8. Well compared to an office building where they are practically empty upon delivery, a large apartment complex with fine finishing is way more complex.
  9. Yes this has been "slow" but is also huge and very complex.
  10. I'm pretty sure it was supposed to look more like a stylized factory not a steam ship.
  11. The extremely high rents that you mention are one of the biggest driving forces of supertalls. Being able to collect much higher rent per square foot means they can spend more per square foot, ie taller and more architecturally pleasing structures. Also the land costs more there so they must build a decently tall building just to cover the cost of land.
  12. I was working at majestic metro yesterday and there were so many people downtown, it felt alive. Went to Franks after work at about 1am and the line went all the way to the back of the building. This is great considering most of the residential projects are not finished yet. The more people that live there, the more people that want to live there.
  13. ^ I will soon be using the Columbia Tap trail to commute to UH on bike once I move in January. These can really be a huge asset.
