  1. I am just waiting for the state to atleast surface plans for commuter rail services. Although there are other suburbs that could use the service far more than Pearland, 288 is the perfect route to shoot a train to the Fanin South Rail Yard to connect with the Red Line.
  2. Toll road proposed for 288 06:19 PM CST on Thursday, February 22, 2007 By Wendell Edwards / 11 News Click to watch video The population explosion in Brazoria County has made rush hour traffic on highway 288 bumper to bumper. There could be some relief in sight in the form of a toll road, but it
  3. Thanks for that musicman. If true, I will definitely try to get pics since I believe I am off that day. Hopefully I am not on campus during that time.
  4. Is the sign facing Main or Travis? If it is Main, it is the same sign that has been there for the past 2 years. I saw a sign on the opposite side of the lot while taking the rail this morning, but I did not see if it was a Camden sign.
  5. That rendering has been there for a while. They also have a website: http://binzmedcorp.com/
  6. Anyone know what is going on or in under the garage on the block north of Cava Bistro?
  7. Its all about location with Californian cities. San Diego has developed one of the densest urban cores in the country in the past decade with the construction boom that is going on. They are booming so much it is the type of boom that you would think would lead to a bust. What they have created in such a short time is astounding because some cities would wait generations to see their city evolve into what Downtown San Diego and surrounding areas have become. It is seriously becoming U.S. of A's Vancouver.
  8. I just thought it was a cinch to find if you google the name. http://www.swedroe.com/
  9. Why did I even post in here? I'll try to refrain from these topics for now on and live and love EVERYBODY regardless of sexual orientation, race, sex, or dispute with them if they have the "right" religion or if they have the right flag waving outside of their home. I don't want to speak for GOD, but I am sure he knows this world would be a better place if we do just that and practice something called human tolerance.
  10. I don't know, it just seems like the same feelings are acceptable for one sex but bring in another sex and all of a sudden it is taboo or a mental disorder.
  11. I have been to LA a number of times to where I can not count on both hands, most of the family lines the coast of that state, and I have never stepped foot in Long Beach. I have seen pics and it looks like a healthy city. LA's Oakland. By the way, if you have bad visions of Oakland, ERASE them. True progress from an urbanist stance is happening in that city. Some areas I visit, I ask how did they do it, if you are familiar with how the area was before.
  12. I also went last week. I am just now noticing the menu on the website and I was shocked by the prices when I visited. The food may not WOW everyone but it deserves another visit just to support it.
  13. If you know Turnberry, there was no reason to be so anticipated to know what the design would look like.
  14. The first sentence I am speaking of is the fist sentence in post #9.
  15. Uhhh that's exactly what I do if that was directed at me. Sorry but I was raised to question EVERYTHING and honestly it builds my faith to be stronger, and puhlease, that first sentence is brought up all the time and I personally think it is an extreme example. As a Christain I study more of the teachings of Jesus Christ because I feel his teachings are not based in human nature and come from some higher power and they truly make you think. That said I do not think in a limited perpesctive on all things in the bible especially when you look at history on how Christainity was used for oppression of people based on characteristics they have zero control over.
  16. I love the Turnberry Beach house in Miami. Those are the type of designs that will make me take a midrise before a highrise anyday, but they stuck with their "signature" style this time for Houston.
  17. GOD: Believe in him, but I do not think in a limited perpesctive of what "prophets" believe is absolute. Gays: Pretty much what TJones said. Really don't care plus I am also not sure if it is nature or nurture but you cannot choose or control what naturally arouses you. Airliner: Go Continental.
  18. That is the exact area I am talking about. Looks like it is across the street from Baldwin Park. Townhomes are going up in that area quickly. I am not familiar with that building though.
  19. There are little to no townhomes directly surrounding U of H. Your best bet will probably be around Baldwin Park in Midtown across 288, but like west20th said, they will not be in the low 200's, but it still does not hurt to check. Directly northwest of the campus aint too pretty and the southside of the campus are modest size two story homes and cottage bungalows built in the 30's and 40's in University Oaks. Extremely charming neighborhood with even some students leasing but I do not remember too much of anything being in the low 200's either.
  20. To be honest I thought the same thing for a while but it does grow on you in a good way. I think the interior side of the building, not the inside but the courtyard area, is more appreciated than what you see from Cullen or Entrance 14. The simple curve and the small fins on the building that you can see from Cullen are appreciated. I think it looks better at night though. That said the new library is a building that will age well in my opinion. Similar to E. Cullen.
  21. That is indeed tragic but you cannot help but to think "preventable". Not that this situation in the news has anything to do with it but in general I think some people have mental issues when they cannot control their public confrontations and amplify their conflict by not being able to shut up. That's just suicide nowadays. Most of the time, it's a power struggle because some one is afraid to look like they lost the argument. In the end they both look like assholes. Although I am sure there are some extreme cases where people are shot for actually being the bigger person.
