  1. You can still cut down on irresponsible land use and still serve an auto based clientele. Are you saying the clientele will be intimidated if it were built otherwise?
  2. Actually Midtown Coog, your comments about Mr Finger were kind of confusing to me too.
  3. In all seriousness, I did not even read the Niche's post. I agree that if cost is an issue, I am sure there are alternatives to the underground garage. If that is the case, I actually agree w/ MidtownCoog. The garage was a smart move in my opinion if we are trying to cut down on the need for parking for future developments but I am sure it is not imperative to have if it is going to remove the entire possibility of getting the pak done. I am sure minus the 20 million dollars for the garage would fix the financial issue.
  4. Well first we do not even know what the thing looks like. Second, I guess it would have been nice to extend what is now Houston Center Gardens  so it could evolve and do what it has ben doing for the past few years. Absolutely nothing. Atleast if there is an initiative to bring residential development around the park, the residents or visitors have something to do which there is plenty of. From what I can see, there is still a decent amount of park space in the development. I believe Finger already has plans to take up the northern border of the park for a residential development.
  5. I didn't. I just know that Houston has had its fair share of anti-development people lately and I was just saying I have not heard to many negatives on the park except from the "usuals".
  6. Huh? I don't think this is one of those times. I only know one person that is downplaying this plan, which is predictable with every project.
  7. Hopefully they are being progressive and know that those surface lots that surround the park will be future development.
  8. I read that too. Let's just hope the company has a sense of humor. IMO, it would be quite silly to have this huge swath of land with no sort of amenities to make it a walkable environment. Totally defeating the purpose. The layout of the plan has retail in the center of the development.
  9. No. Victory is 72 acres while Hardy is 50. Plus I do not believe Hardy will not have any sort of hotel space.
  10. I can't believe the city has kept that building for so long. I believe it was built when the city was founded.
  11. December 2005 from the article: http://houston.bizjournals.com/houston/sto...ry2.html?page=1
  12. Although the latest article, not necessarily a new one, said environmental work will take a while and construction is suppose to start in two years.
  13. hmmm. Wasn't aware of that. The last place I thought I could walk in to take pics were at a court house. Any recommendations on floors?
  14. My favorite view would be from that courthouse that was built in downtown in the late 90's. Some serious density one can see from up there. Here is the view I am speaking of. Anyone know how to get up there?
  15. What in the world is a boudin stuffed pork chop? Sounds delicious. Boudin balls are the bomb and there is place on the far far far south side of Almeda that I happened to end up at going towards Pearland. I cannot remember the name.
  16. Typical comment with every new development. I think it really is him hiding his excitement. Anyway the business district down south is not exactly at full occupancy right now.
  17. I hate to make this a comparison too, but Houston's Buckhead is Uptown. This is way to close to downtown to be considered that. I am sure news stories from this place will still say downtown.
  18. That is nice. I would not mind seeing one of these at the edge of downtown and Midtown.
  19. goodness. I thought those people were crazy who spent all that money on AstroWorld memorabilia, but I see why now. Sad indeed.
