    Oh goodness. HBCU's were started because blacks would not be accepted at any other college so they started their own. That said, any race could still go to those schools. We could probably say systems like these are not needed anymore but they will always be HBCU's historically. Why take it away?

    There's already a CVS at Main Street Square. This area of downtown has ZERO retail outside of restaurants and bars. Plus, Preston station has a hell of a lot more residential population surrounding it than Main Street Square.

    Ditto. There's nothing like it in the area. These are the type of businesses that will have you seeing actual residents walking around on a Sunday night.

    That's unfortunate. They could have boxed in that parking lot with the development facing Richmond and Weslayan. Probably could have used a lot less land by mixing in the 500 apartments too. When will some folks learn?

    The one in Dallas might be larger but they are both huge. Before the Hilton Americas opened up, I believe the Hyatt was the largest hotel in Houston with 977 rooms. That said, Dallas' is larger at around 1100 rooms. Although the pic you saw only had the entrance, it is a 30 floor hotel with an open atrium tht looks down on the lobby.

    ^^Another person mentioned that on another forum. Main through the TMC should be called "the alley".

    Nice project and the plot of land seems to good to be true for it to be going on. Thumbs up.

    Yes a building was imploded for what is currently under construction.

    ^^Nice lighting but I hate the colors. Looks like an attempt to light an 80's structure. They need to keep it monochromatic.

    You know at first I thought METRO was just being an ass, but that does make sense.

    I agree they need to build closer to campus. Especially that lot on Cullen across from Cougar Place next to the Quads. It is a compact site but I think it would work. They have some nice trees on that lot though.

    I know what you are talking about. Sometimes the outer edges of the crown look to small or like they fall into the building, but at some angles it looks normal. The best view is coming up MacGregor along the Bayou east of 288 when the sun is setting.
