  1. Here are some renderings of the interior
  2. I don't know if it was just a show off, but in the renderings of Piazza Blanca, they had a J. Crew retail store. Hopefully more of this will come out of that development.
  3. Does anybody know about this project in downtown. It is designed by Ziegler Cooper.
  4. http://www.indydt.com/hotelsresultstemplate.asp?Type=All
  5. The two most well lit buildings in downtown.
  6. Those would be perfect. You have the right idea.
  7. Any pictures? I passed by and saw it slightly, but I guess it looks different at night time. I say anything is better than that Crazyhorse Cantina. It can't look worse than this place. Or does it? I must say that Grasshopper looks very professionally done.
  8. Houston has opened a lot of hotels latley, but we are still very low considering the number of rooms. Even cities like St Louis and Indianapolis have quadruple the number of rooms that Houston has in its downtown.
  9. What is is with Houston's 300 foot mark? It seems like all of Houston's buildings that are proposed or approved have been around the 300 foot mark and not any taller. With the new skyscrapers that have gone up recently only 3 have been over 400 feet and the rest were 300 footers. Just look at some of the buildings that are proposed or approved, 1901 Holcombe, Shamrock Tower, Redstone, Monaco, Dominion at Post Oak(u/c), Orion towers, the condo in front of Doubletree in downtown, they are all at the 300 foot mark. Why is that? Personally, I would like to see downtown build a 700-800 foot hotel in downtown that will drastically change the skyline, because we all know the buildings that have been going up surely aren't going to do it. What do you think?
  10. You mean if Atlanta can have it? Philly and Houston are obviously in different leagues.
  11. The only reason I said the Village and not downtown is because they are not going to put them in a non 24 hour downtown like Houston's. I think thevillage would be better because it seems active throughout all hours of the day and you are equal distance to the Galleria area and downtown. Plus, the rail is just a short walk down University Boulevard from the Village. Put them in Uptown, please. I would be embarassed for them to walk pass all those strip malls with parking lots and empty sidewalks. I think one of those homes on University Boulevard across the street from Rice would be perfect. It would kind of be like the house from the Real World New Orleans.
  12. I would say the village or somewhere in West University.
  13. Congrats man. I guess you won't be able to see all the responses today since you are getting married tomorrow. This is probably one busy day for you.
  14. Why? I work toward against billboards on the freeway. What about the Electronic billboards in the Theater District?
  15. I already mentioned this project, but nobody had news on it. http://www.houstonarchitecture.info/haif/i...p?showtopic=669
  16. Why do all of these renderings look like something out of the 70's? How old is this proposal?
  17. What is the nicest part of Uptown or the inner city?
  18. $800,000? You are free to have whatever you want in Uptown, except for the penthouses that go for millions. Here is a website page that can make your choice more easier. http://www.urbanliving.com/homefinder.cfm?st=m
  19. You hit the nail on the head. If you love where you live in Houston, you have more self confidence in your city. I lived in Sugar Land before I moved to West University and I really did not care for the city of Houston, because I didn't live in the middle of it all. Once you change locations into a more vibrant atmosphere, the view of the city you live in totally changes.
  20. What is with all the doubt people? There are too many people that have already bought units in these projects going up. Why would they just quit the development?
  21. Dominion at Post Oak. I honestly thought that was not going to get built. Also the Memorial Hermann Plaza in TMC. Construction has already started. I thought that was going to end up like the AIM Headquarters on the Southwest Freeway.
