  1. I'm sure it is more than that. There is retail in that picture also. What kind, I have no idea.
  2. OK. When are you going to show the rest of your pics Montrose? You're teasing us here.
  3. More than likely they probably will. Do you see the location of the lofts? West of the Manhattan lofts.
  4. Oh come on. Yes it will be an attraction. Just like Shibuya in Tokyo or Times Square in NYC. Just on a smaller scale. I wish Houston had something like this. I would be the first to move in with all this development, and it looks like a very cool area to live in. Los Angeles will be building something similar in their downtown. LA Live
  5. I'm too lazy to read the articles, but isn't it more in the residential are of Uptown Dallas. This is Victory Plaza, and I am guessing it has to do with Victory Dallas, which is more of Uptown Dallas. Here are some projects, which are mostly residential which means there should be some kind of street life going on. Victory Residences (Notice all the sidewalk retail. Houston can learn a thing or two from this. One Victory Tower Victory Commons The W
  6. Well, now that I have read the first post fully, I would say Saba Blue Water Cafe, if the Saturday falls on a Rockets game, I would go to Red and White Bistro inside the Toyota Center. There are also some nice restaurants in the Hilton Americas. Skyline Grill has an amazing view of the skyline, especially at night. Mingalone's Italian Bar and Grill is pretty good also. If you are oin a budget, in downtown I would recommend Hard Rock Cafe, Bossa(Latin and Cuban Food), St Pete's Dancing Marlin, or Live Sports Cafe(if you are in to that kind of thing.)
  7. I would recommend Katz's on Westheimer. The food is great and the dessert leaves you speechless. No offense to anyone, but if you are homophobic, I would not go.
  8. Does anybody have anything about the 30 story condominium going up in the Medical Center area, caled 1900 Holcomb? I am so anxious to find out more on this building. You wont believe how hard it is to find information on this project. I do know that the developers are Whiteco Residential, the same company that built Dominion on Post Oak. Please, does somebody have anymore info?
  9. Here is another smaller rendering for Point Center. Why so different than the first pic?
  10. What they are doing with the old texaco building is great though. Click Here Once you get to the website, click Skip Intro Go to Portfolio Click on Hospitality Click on the square numbered 6 at the top. The hotel is just beautiful, and we need something like this in downtown.
  11. The old Texaco building will be the site of the Renaissance hotel.
  12. Does anybody have any information or updates on the Club Quarters Hotel and the 2nd Renaissance hotel in Houston that will be located in downtown?
  13. Hurry up Houston and get this done. I cannot stand the site of that old Days Inn building.
  14. I thought what Yazuka posted, was in front of Texaco Heritage. I am not saying that they shouldn't build in the older sections. I am just saying more people are probably going to want to live in the location where this building is going up. I said nothing about Orion. Isn't Texaco Heritage near ETPark? Isn't this article about development near Texaco Heritage, or did I just read it wrong?
  15. That sounds like great news Yazuka. This area seems more desirable than the Shamrock Tower area. Shamrock Tower is located in the older more gritty part of downtown. This building sounds like it will be located near the Skyline District where it is more clean and modern. Which area do you think people would want to live in? I think it is a given. Plus you are in walking distance to Eleanor Tinsley Park.
  16. This is in regard to houstonsemipro's article posted. I am all for revitalization and renovation of old historic buildings, but don't sometimes you wish they built a new structure for these condos or hotels going up to fill in some of these parking lots. When is the last time a condo highrise in downtown wss constructed anyway? Shamrock Tower will be the first in how many years?
  17. lol. That is mean, but still kind of funny. I thought it was kind of weird too, but it is a good way to learn English I guess.
  18. From downtown to the beltway on I-45 and from downtown to the beltway on 59, are very unattractive. Nothing but randown gas stations, cheap motels, auto mechanic shops, and tacky malls. I-45 closer to downtown is starting to shape up with all the greenery.
  19. What is with southern states and all of these lofts going up? Gets kind of boring after a while. Oh well, downtown needs it.
  20. It's going to get built. Why wouldn't it? They already have a high percentage of the units already sold and they have the rest on sale on all types of realtor websites. You never seen this with Ballpark Place, and I think we all knew that was not going to be built with having the title of "on hold". Shamrock is approved or proposed and will definitely be under construction soon. I don't see why it wouldn't. Plus, I don't remember seeing a sales trailor in the parking lot for Ballpark Place. Just a sign with a rendering.
  21. Is anybody aware of this, or are these people just trying to get in the Haloween spirit? Spaghetti Warehouse - Houston Named Nation's 6th Scariest Haunted Spot By Citysearch Thursday October 28, 10:28 am ET HOUSTON, Oct. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Citysearch names Houston's Spaghetti Warehouse, one of the nation's scariest haunted spots. Celebrate Halloween with Spaghetti Warehouse and its ghostly, uninvited guests. "We have had many sightings of ghostly activity," said David Wierman, president of Spaghetti Warehouse. "The building used to be an old produce warehouse, and we are aware that several of their employees died in the back elevator shaft. The rumor is that the families of these men spend their days looking for the men." "There is activity happening daily, for example someone hears their name being called, yet no one is there," adds Sandra McMasters, the General Manager of Spaghetti Warehouse. "Often the elevator lights will flicker, objects move without any logical reason, and employees see a ghost like lady in a white gown throughout the restaurant all the time. It is also believed that many spirits are present due to the various antiques that adorn our restaurant. I am a believer!" The Spaghetti Warehouse is located at Commerce and Travis in downtown Houston, and offers haunted tours. An array of antiques, roadside advertising signs, a real trolley car, stained glass windows and tiffany-style lamps create the environment. The restaurant generates its appeal via a collection of authentic memorabilia and furnishings collected from domestic and foreign sources. In over 20 years, the Spaghetti Warehouse has served millions of customers, and helped the residents of Houston celebrate countless momentous occasions including Halloween! Guests are invited to take a haunted tour. Call for details. Spaghetti Warehouse operations are managed by Consolidated Restaurant Operations, Inc. (CRO, Inc.) of Dallas, Texas. The restaurant is located at 901 Commerce Street in downtown Houston.
