  1. Sad but true.... Ignorant AND Uninformed (I've seen this firsthand even; many of them don't seem that "into it". However, rest assured; there are a couple who are. Perhaps I should start linking some of my fellow students to HAIF.
  2. You call yourselves architecture students???!?!? *goes to cry in the corner* Sadly, my personal experiences show that many architecture students just are not "into it" that much. Perhaps I should introduce some of them to HAIF or something... What I wanna know is...when were these guys there?
  3. I don't like Rick perry, but I like Obama even less....
  4. I hope they modify the design slightly for the uptown stations; it doesn't go well with the existing arches/bus stops in the area. The colour scheme should at least match that of those new bus stops (satin/grey metal, green glass).
  5. Well, if they were covered up before, then I guess the ones I saw earlier were new. I don't remember any banners on any wire fences the last time I passed that intersection (which was just a few days prior).
  6. Drove by earlier; there is a fence that is up across the street from the existing structure covered in banners/renderings/etc. Might be on hold due to the economy, but this doesn't look too far off, consider how many other properties they managed to get done lately.
  7. Found it here: http://swamplot.com/metro-coming-attractio...nes/2009-04-20/ Not sure how to embed this here: http://vimeo.com/3615604
  8. Yeah, I know about that; it's just some people around here may go ZOMFG UN-PC! And FWIW, I don't eat dogs, nor do I condone the consumption of said animals.
  9. If they hit it, they could always eat it anyway. DISCLAIMER: I'm asian myself
  10. Maybe they decided to round things up, in regards to Marathon Oil, and San Felipe plaza, perhaps.
  11. What the...HO CHI MINH CITY in the same level as Houston? FAIL
  12. The main thing I find offensive is the typo in the title of this thread.
  13. It looks absolutely nothing like the original renderings; go back and take a look. The entire thing looks like it will be clad in that same boring white precast/EIFS that all the other memorial bldgs going up have. Once again, the Memorial City peeps have pulled off a bait and switch thing here; the original Westin renders were much better designs than the one going up now. This entire swath could have been so much better than it is now. They totally ruined it with their crappy half arsed architecture.

    Man Purse

Hey now, sometimes a backpack isn't enough when you carry a laptop with accessories, a sketch set that includes a sketchbook and supply bin, an MP3 player, and various odds and ends! Oh, and I already wear cargo shorts/pants on a daily basis to carry my keys, wallet, etc!
  15. Agreed. This along with the crazy lady who wants Asians to change their names is making the "Republicans" look like idiots atm.
  16. If I am not mistaken, the proposed highrise is a ways off from the sites shown in the model. Perhaps it is a different phase?
  17. As a multiracial Asian person, this doesn't offend me as much as it makes me shake my head...
  18. The story seems quite vague; did they approve the tax incentive, or did they approve the actual project? Eh?
