  1. Honestly, that's pretty impressive, all things considered with the (annoyingly) vocal minority's many Catch-22 arguments used against this. The fact that half of the Grimes/Waller county landowners have signed agreements with them is amazing too. Grimes county residents are impressively stubborn in their desire to be left tf alone.
  2. Oh so that's what we call that area. I always found myself struggling to find a name to describe that area. Me- "So it's like west of downtown sort of.." Friend- "Oh you mean Montrose?" Me- "No...its north of Montrose" Friend- "So you mean the Heights?" Me- "No to far north, it's below I-10" Friend- "Sooo..Washington?" Me- "That's a street" Friend- "East Downtown?" Me- "I hate you"
  3. I don't think I've ever seen Pre-DiscoGreen like that before. Kinda sucks we lost a block of park space but it wasn't in vain
  4. Can we keep the never ending argument of toll roads confined to the thread for this specific topic? That would be fantastic
  5. I mean, yeah he's gone through with the demo of the current building's, but that's not an immediate indication of a project's 100% confirmation. Plenty of projects come to mind that have Demo'd blocks without starting a project; Camden's towers downtown, the old Houston First building (that's the block next to Chase tower right? It's finally showing signs of life but it sat there for awhile obviously) the current Chronicle demolition... Im almost positive that a successful business person doesn't gather their wealth by ignoring business cycles. I'm sure he does intend to start later this year, if he can get the funding swtsig mentioned a few weeks ago, and by the time this finishes there might not be an apartment glut.
  6. Year old bump/quote and I have absolutely no idea what I was arguing/who I was arguing with. I could go back a page and look, but that's just so much work.
  7. No it's geniune. I expected very little from the SB crew and they delivered with some quality Houston/Austin (GCJ) artists. I know my default tone is sarcasm here, but I'm impressed with the SB. It helps that my expectations were very very very low. Practically nonexistent.
  8. Blue October, Solange, Gary Clark Jr, and Wild Mocassins? Well done SB crew
  9. I'd be surprised if they did, considering the NFL owner's tendencies to scam cities out of hundreds of millions of dollars for stadiums
  10. Is Camden working on the facade that faces the park because that's where they are in construction, or are they working on just that side so there's not a half-finished building in the background of ESPN's cameras?
  11. I was hiking all this past week so I haven't had a chance yet to test it out, but it seems fine now. I do appreciate the transparency the new leadership has shown. Thanks for your help and quick responses!
  12. It's now happening when I open the entire forum. Not just a specific sub or thread.
  13. Just when I opened up a thread, hasn't happened when I open a thread to post. It actually hadn't happened to me for a little over a month now, but yesterday was brutal. Thanks for the response!
  14. @HAIF.cares All day today I've been getting the exact same ad as Montrose. It happens when I open a thread on the Going Up subforum and it's something that's been happening to me for awhile now. Ive attached a photo of the page I'm redirected to. Would really love it if this forum didn't become a spam forum for example look in this forum: http://www.houstonarchitecture.com/haif/forum/7-going-up/ http://www.houstonarchitecture.com/haif/forum/7-going-up/?do=add http://www.houstonarchitecture.com/haif/topic/30052-block-365-1711-caroline-6-story-residential-midrise/?page=4
  15. While it would be much appreciated, it seems the current zeitgeist is headed towards a Neo-Romantic path, which will soon translate itself to architecture, if it hasn't already.
  16. Whoever buys the 32nd floor penthouse gets their own rooftop pool, I think? Damn. Edit; It refers to it as a Mechanical Penthouse, so maybe the 32nd floor is open to residences then. Edit 2; Floors 1-3 listed as Office but I assume can also be Retail?
  17. I don't know if there's anything happening on site, but a 30 page Condominium Decleration was filed last Friday. I assume everyone knows the floor count is 32 floors?
