I wouldn't even be that mad tbh

I think Buc-ee's is thinking of the long term plan; when (if, I guess) this line is built it should eventually expand to other cities, which would cut into their profits? As a side note, I'd join the TAHSR group if the stations are branded by Buc-ee's tbh

I saw that on the r/Houston post about this. Would be very interesting and would make sense, but they have so many stores among other highways that I'd be still be surprised if they were funding the opposition.

http://www.houstonchronicle.com/news/transportation/article/Texas-legislators-trying-to-put-brakes-on-10948975.ph Looks like the battle is finally here in the 2017 Legislative session. Odd that quite a few of the bills are filed by representatives of districts where the HSR won't pass through.

TCR's statement on that article is savage.

Pearl Marketplace At Midtown: Multifamily At 3120 Smith St.
BigFootsSocks replied to DrLan34's topic in Midtown
We went from; "Look at these renderings on the fence with Whole Foods!" to "Look! They've removed the renderings! What happened to Whole Foods?" to "Look at this article! Whole Foods is closing some stores!" to "Well looks like this could be one of them...?" to "Here are some ideas for replacements" All in a matter of days. Never change HAIF, never change.- 550 replies

Camden Conte: Multifamily At 1515 Austin St.
BigFootsSocks replied to Urbannizer's topic in Downtown
Yeah the target of your posts really need to quit using logic and common sense in their posts. Really irritating when that gets in the way of "I don't care if it doesn't make sense I just want a big tall tower"- 762 replies

10 Waterway Ave: Office Building In The Woodlands
BigFootsSocks replied to lockmat's topic in Points North
Kind of a click-bait title then; it's not breaking ground, it's moving to the stage of "we hope a tenant signs a lease so we can break ground"- 63 replies

How can a County Judge say something like this though? That's a blatant lie, and as a member of this nation, his role is to uphold truth and justice, yet here we are seeing him spout utter nonsense like this.
-
Honestly, that's pretty impressive, all things considered with the (annoyingly) vocal minority's many Catch-22 arguments used against this. The fact that half of the Grimes/Waller county landowners have signed agreements with them is amazing too. Grimes county residents are impressively stubborn in their desire to be left tf alone.

The Allen: Mixed-Use Development At Allen Parkway & Gillette St.
BigFootsSocks replied to jmontrose's topic in Going Up!
Oh so that's what we call that area. I always found myself struggling to find a name to describe that area. Me- "So it's like west of downtown sort of.." Friend- "Oh you mean Montrose?" Me- "No...its north of Montrose" Friend- "So you mean the Heights?" Me- "No to far north, it's below I-10" Friend- "Sooo..Washington?" Me- "That's a street" Friend- "East Downtown?" Me- "I hate you"- 1,657 replies

I don't think I've ever seen Pre-DiscoGreen like that before. Kinda sucks we lost a block of park space but it wasn't in vain

Can we keep the never ending argument of toll roads confined to the thread for this specific topic? That would be fantastic

Drewery Place: Multifamily High-Rise At 2850 Fannin St.
BigFootsSocks replied to Urbannizer's topic in Midtown
I mean, yeah he's gone through with the demo of the current building's, but that's not an immediate indication of a project's 100% confirmation. Plenty of projects come to mind that have Demo'd blocks without starting a project; Camden's towers downtown, the old Houston First building (that's the block next to Chase tower right? It's finally showing signs of life but it sat there for awhile obviously) the current Chronicle demolition... Im almost positive that a successful business person doesn't gather their wealth by ignoring business cycles. I'm sure he does intend to start later this year, if he can get the funding swtsig mentioned a few weeks ago, and by the time this finishes there might not be an apartment glut.- 1,569 replies

No it's geniune. I expected very little from the SB crew and they delivered with some quality Houston/Austin (GCJ) artists. I know my default tone is sarcasm here, but I'm impressed with the SB. It helps that my expectations were very very very low. Practically nonexistent.
