imo HAIF mates.. we that constantly peruse this wonderful forum, have all become more than accustomed to the evolution of "renderings". to some degree, i shall stand with luminare, upon his approach that the original renderings were prepared to convey just what would transpire during a large populace descending upon downtown as per a superbowl, festival, concert, you name it. however, since we all are keenly aware that this city is now under serious preparations as per the forthcoming SUPERBOWL 17... we should bare in mind that the renderings / depictions as per the GRB, shall be evolving as well. it has been stated beforehand, that there shall be an edifice located at the top of the now under construction GRB GARAGE. to my knowledge, it has not as of yet been hereby determined just what has been decided upon the overall concept. BOUTIQUE HOTEL vs OFFICE BUILDING.. or maybe even a bit of both. thus far, all that we have become aware of... and i am most certain that you all shall agree, is that they shall need to move rapidly upon this decision. this shall be in lieu of the constraints of time. SUPERBOWL 17, is now upon it's way. therefore, the element of time, is certainly of the essence. i strongly suspect that city of houston officials, are working diligently, trying in earnest to come forth with the ultimate plan(s) that shall satisfy most everyone in regards to this particular area. with the backdrop as per SUPERBOWL 17 looming forward, we simply have no choice. success, along this front, shall go a long way upon houston's future convention standings.

GreenStreet: Mixed-Use Development At 1201 Fannin St.
monarch replied to MontroseNeighborhoodCafe's topic in Downtown
wonderful! i cannot wait to finally see some decent retail enter this establishment. the new moniker GREENSTREET, is nothing fancy. in fact, it is a very generic sounding name. one can only assume that it is derived as per DISCOVERY GREEN. however, it is clean and easy, and it flows well with this particular downtown establishment. -
video technology is constantly evolving. it may oftentimes become tedious and contrite. however, please know that we appreciate all that you are doing triton. it is becoming very hot outside... stay safe, stay cool!

lovely illustrations. here's hoping that this state of the art edifice, shall change into a myriad of LED colors rather than just stay with a "white glow" throughout the evening / night time. WELCOME TO DOWNTOWN HOUSTON SKANSKA!

props, as per sharing! here's to wishing much success to the new YULMAN STADIUM in new orleans. -
this original HOUSTON METHODIST HOSPITAL concept, is a design TOUR DE FORCE! something that houston methodist hospital has become known for, as per the last decade or so. not to mention, this particular concept is definitely worth the estimated cost of $540 million dollars... that shall now be utilized as per this very latest concept noted below. the latest concept, that is indeed dull, and quite uninspiring to say the least. trust me, we are not trying in earnest to become brash / crude, as per our approach to houston methodist hospital progress. it is just that houston methodist, has so indeed spoiled us over these decades.. with their state of the art edifice design concepts, never before seen throughout the houston medical landscape.

YIKES! one can only pray as per the good man above.. that both of these mixed use concepts, may in fact produce better forthcoming / updated / modern renderings. imo, both of the prospective designs harken back to the (80's) when i was still in high school. the hotel concept, is foreboding, dull, way to much earth tones, albeit browns, darkness everywhere... i could only imagine just what a visitor from new york, dubai, london, or anywhere upon this great earth.. would think of staying there overnight. the only thing upon my opinion that is altogether enlightening... is it's proposed 36 floor height factor. any proposed edifice in houston that is close to 40 floors.. would certainly entertain my vote of confidence. the tower concept, is a very haphazard design to say the very least. just what in the world was the architectural firm thinking vs dreaming? again dark, old, foreboding, it's as if they took one of the enron buildings from downtown.. and started to butcher it like crazy, until they realized their mistake. then they decided to try and piece it back together again. i guess, something along the lines of "humpty ENRON dumpty". i guess we could call it that! midway cos, has become the new essential, as per design innovation as per the city of houston. i for one, could just only imagine what midway cos., could do with this piece of prime real estate upon post oak. it would be such.. that only dreams are indeed made of.

the second half of your query is indeed correct. i had it correct upon my initial posting. a bit unique, as well as confusing to us americans. i shall be venturing back pretty soon, i shall try and acquire a bit more history upon this "naming" situation. -

my downtown houston retail fantasy. PHOENICIA, embodies any and all.. that downtown houston needs / requires upon a grocery establishment. phoenicia, should shutter it's very acclaimed doors over at OPP.. and expand upon a freestanding establishment upon a full block along the newly conceptualized retail corridor, slated as per downtown houston. once established, the new store should carry all essential brands that a regular grocery chain embodies. all the while maintaining it's distinct higher end full quality charm, as it does over at OPP. dilliards, should make their entry into downtown houston. imo, i think that dilliards shall be the perfect department store at this particular time in downtown houston. they should take over the entire sakowitz building.. and basically help to transform that whole area that once again is slated as per the new downtown retail corridor. greenstreet, shall see an overall gleaming transformation upon the arrival as per hotel alessandra. greenstreet, shall need to expand another block or two and offer a bit more retail establishment brands that normally cater to all patrons alike.. especially conventioneers that oftentimes like to travel lightly, but have no problems shopping elsewhere for their daily functions / necessities. once hotel alessandra arrives.. there shall be no looking back.
