  1. Testing the system today with my gf, going from the car parked at the Galleria and walking Uptown and then hitting Montrose, then Downtown to TMC and back to The Village and back... wish me luck guys
  2. Haha I'm joking man... no I totally get the crazy traffic argument, but this would be a nice addition to the Houston area.
  3. The people in Katy are idiots. All they want is their fields of nothing and their Bass Pro Shop.
  4. While I agree about those businesses, I don't think they are a horrendous eyesore. I do agree I wish the Pico's was another midrise or highrise. It would def add to the density of the area. I would rather see that little plaza where Taco Cabana is at be transformed in to a more open, urban park area.
  5. I also wonder how Houston will look in the next 15 years. If we continue to develop and grow like this Houston is going to be a very well balanced city.
  6. I quit listening to 610 especially after this show. Like I get the dry humor of B-Straw, but it's not very funny and Pauly G is beyond annoying to listen to. It's like He tries too hard to be funny as well. Plus all 610 talks about is the Texans. I love my Texans but when other teams in Houston are doing well, they give them a good 10 mins of talk time and then it's back to the Texans. I like the mid-day show but the morning drive with Nick and John is just beyond terrible. I'm a 790 listener now and they are so much better all around.
  7. The Dome is our Eiffel Tower, and if remodeled it could be a masterpiece for this city. I actually appreciate all the politics Judge Emmett is using to save the place.
  8. Completely agree. I think what hurt downtown for so many years, compared to many other cities, is that we pushed all of our development away from our core. For example, and this question is rhetorical, but why is the Houston Imrpov in an entertainment center off of Katy Frwy? Why is Dave & Busters not downtown? I guess my point is the city focused on the area considered "Houston" as a whole and neglected trying to grow from the core outward. The good thing is that things are finally starting to balance out a bit across the city. And as Houston grows denser and continues to fill in the gaps, a more vibrant, better organized city, with multiple central cores will begin to connect fluidly.
  9. Wow that's kind of insane. BUT I will say that I would def live there, especially since it's so close to rail and accessible to so much.
  10. Someone's gonna have a serious LSD trip in this park
  11. I was in New Orleans this past weekend, and I was thoroughly impressed with how they save all their old architecture while still building new buildings alongside. We can't continue to destroy the history of this city to save money. Not only do we fail to remember how we have grown but we neglect the charm a city this size can have by maintaining it's older structures. I'm thankful this building is being renovated.
  12. It's actually a pretty common term. People in L.A. use it all the time.
  13. That's true, I'm just saying I wish there was a plan to maybe open that area up more. I think it would have been nice to have walkways through the GRB in to Discovery Green. And close off that back street to allow foot traffic much like they are doing to the front.
  14. I wonder if they would ever consider opening up the eastern side of the GRB? Like a grand entrance, possibly shutting down part of the street that runs parallel to it. Just so it doesn't become an ever bigger divide between EaDo and Downtown
  15. I'm sure the Marlowe will start this yr for sure. prob a simple delay. I heard pre-leasing is at what, like 40% or so? Not sure.
  16. Houston is densifying. And you have people complaining about literally nothing. She clearly doesn't know that Houston is changing for the better.
  17. Thank God something on San Jac is getting renovated!
  18. This makes me so angry. Like how stupid do you have to be? I would have talked so much trash to the guy. This is about as stupid as people turning left in front of cars, not knowing they share the lane with the train. Saw this just yesterday actually and it pissed me off so bad. What is the city gonna do with people like this?
  19. That's why I don't think the new residential on Leeland is meant to stay longer than 15 to 20 yrs. Metal almost always means a long term investment.
  20. That cooling plan looks like it belongs in the burbs. I have no idea why that thing has such small narrow sidewalks. Anyways I can't wait for this project to finish.
