  1. Does anyone have a list of the ones in Houston? Nevermind I will go look and if I find it I will post it.
  2. Hermann Park http://www.sdcarchitects.com/ Click architecture, then mid/high rise, and it is the second to last one on the list. What do you all think?
  3. In an article from about a week ago it said it will start in 2006.
  4. Sorry for digging this up, but here are some new renderings posted by Shasta on SSP 801 St Joseph's Parkway current renovated
  5. Just right click it, then click save image (or something similar depending on browser). That will save it to your harddrive.
  6. Yeah I can't wait till this is built either. Here is the original thread http://www.houstonarchitecture.info/haif/i...3&hl=collective
  7. So is this still an accurate rendering? Does anyone have any other info?
  8. I did it using google earth which is something you have to download, they have another one here that you don't have to download. http://maps.google.com/ I just typed in what you see there. On the link if you want sattelite the toggle buttons are in the top right corner of the map.
  9. You've been here long enough to know what happened with him. Ok back on topic, what does everyone think of the new project compared to the riva place concept. I like the new one better as it seems to work better as multiple mid/highrises arther than just two highrises.
  10. Was your house on that side? Because as gnu said HCAD said it was on the other side. (google gets addresses wrong, mines about 7 houses off). Might it be in the area covered with trees?
  11. Thanks for the update. Maybe the parking garage will be underground and they are using the new construction as an entrance. I don't think the entire new building would be the parking garage, but maybe the bottom floor and an underground floor?
  12. Great find! I am not sure why but I really like this picture http://www.nsula.edu/watson_library/postcards/pages/0265.htm It just seems to represent such a different time, that looking at Houston today is hard to believe existed.
  13. It seems like it is on both sides of the pulpet. I guess when they have spent this much on renovations two indoor waterfalls are just a drop in the bucket. Just wondering does anyone on this forum go to lakewood?
  14. So any new news? Kirzania said that they have begun gutting it. Have they begun anything else? Anyone work in the general area? Will the four story part be new construction? Will the two buildings be connected? It seems the floor to ceiling heights are very different.
  15. It is pretty huge, especially when you realize it is supposed to be a church. But look at the 5th picture. Is there really a waterfall in the sanctuary/stadium??
  16. Well this is kind of good info. I am going to try and swing by this weekend and see if there is any work going on. I might ask around at the onsite office. I am sure if it was cancelled they would say it.
  17. Update on the southwest buildings. Today there were workers along with construction equipment and materials on site. It also appears that they have already begun excavation.
  18. That seems hard to believe. Could you tell us in what way this person was connected to Orion? I hope it is still a go. This development seemed to be going in the opposite way of Shamrock. @danes, yes the mercer is ugly, but regarding orion I believe that excavation had already begun, or was soon to begin.
  19. Heres a pic of the corner I am not sure which side it is on as addresses tend to be off, this is from about two years ago.
  20. Not totally sure what you are saying, but if you have pics post 'em. Funny it took seven and a half months for this to get replies.
  21. Well most of the buildings are out in the suburbs so you can't really expect high rises. Will the TMC h&v building cover the entire lot in front? At least you can still see it from different angles. It is kind of funny how the TMC is growing. Since many buildings were bui,t with a small parking lot in front of them you might see a building you used to go to and there is a high rise smack dab in front of it.
  22. I bet they could probably get enough people to fill it. I mean I have actually met people who would like to live somewhere haunted, then there are also those who don't believe in it or just don't care either way. I wonder if anyone who moves in might not know the history of the building. I wonder what they would do if they had been living there for a month and then hear it from their neighbor.
  23. Good news about the groundbreaking. Does anyone know what the four towers will hold? They look like residential towers, and the office/hotel markets seem to soft right now.
