  1. Always wondered about this building. Today I thought I would stop by and take a few pictures of the elegant condo high rise. Park Square One Condominiums located at 49 Briar Hollow Lane.
  2. Houston Housing Authority lists a “Highrise” on the site of the Ewing St apartments as part of their 2024 plans for which they are seeking funding: See pg. 5 in the link below: https://housingforhouston.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/Part-I-Annual-PHA-Plan-_-Attachments.pdf This would be across from Tema’s lot, from where Two Hermann Place is planned.

  4. The Parklane apartment tower was originally built as condos, but amid the 80's oil crash, they decided to go rental. "But as Houston’s demand for condo properties has increased, returning The Parklane to its original purpose seemed like a prime opportunity..." Sales will begin mid-June. https://www.bizjournals.com/houston/news/2020/06/01/tema-development-parklane-apartments-condos.html?ana=e_me_prem&j=90511812&t=Morning B&mkt_tok=eyJpIjoiTmpSaU9EQmxaVEJpWm1VeCIsInQiOiI0djU5Mjd6aEdCT1R6V2RrODNxV1YwcDFkRHRYcGtvVG1qU0UwYm01bTd2XC9NOHM4Y2pBaDFRNVZ3WisrRFJDcnoyQkRJVkFYbGxFeGV0SDB4VkcxSTdUTkd0cUtwU255ZE5LUUMwREZHVCtLdkdGZUxZcFF5NnY2bTltVXhRYWoifQ%3D%3D http://www.theparklane.com/
  5. A 'feasability study' has been submitted to the FAA for a 370' ft building at 1500-1598 Calumet St. https://oeaaa.faa.gov/oeaaa/external/searchAction.jsp?action=displayOECase&oeCaseID=407159141&row=2
  6. https://www.houstonchronicle.com/business/real-estate/article/Lennar-s-apartment-division-buys-Galleria-area-13841951.php Conflicting account of where exactly the site is located: The Gables project is SOUTH of the parcel that's on the corner of Westcreek/San Felipe and across from Arabella. Based on HCAD it appears that the lot is in fact on the corner of Westcreek/San Felipe. See Parcel A (BELOW)
  7. https://protecttanglewood.com/updates/ Location The Watermark Tanglewood (1661 Tanglewood Blvd.) Watermark Retirement Communities recently mailed a selective announcement to property owners in the area of a proposed 20 story, 62-year and older luxury community along with a marketing survey and invitation to a focus group study. The proposed site is owned by WMJK Ltd. The THA Board is still trying to gather information and understand if any alternative options might be available, such as potentially raising capital for private purchase of the property and converting it to a green space. It appears Watermark is currently in the due diligence and marketing phase for this development. Further communication will be forwarded as facts are obtained. Anyone interested in attending the Planning Seminar/Focus Group on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 may call the market survey company ProMatura at 800-201-1483.

  9. I don't have the specifics for the height, floors, architect, etc. but here's what she's going to look like... I believe this is the view of the north side of the building that will face Market Square. This is based on the other renderings of the Chronicle site building. Block 42:

  14. Looks like Pelican has a new project once The Wilshire is finished. 17 stories and 58 units. There's a render in PaperCityMag but I am too dumb to figure out how to post it here. Expecting to break ground summer of 2016. http://www.papercitymag.com/interiors/the-homey-high-rise-new-houston-tower-6300-woodway-places-comfort-over-gadgets/#2 http://www.papercitymag.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/6300_Wooday-465x620.jpg
  15. Did we know about this one? Just received approval for the Downtown Living Initiative. Additionally, Illinois-based Marquette Cos. is developing the other newly approved project, according to the district's documents. The 304-unit, 24-story apartment tower is planned for Block 114, bounded by Commerce, Jackson, Franklin and Chenevert streets, just a block northeast of Minute Maid Park.
  16. Says 31-stories on the slide, but it has been revised to 33-stories; the design is the same except for the top and facade details. I don't know much else unfortunately. HPA_Urban_Architecture_Digital2.pdf Edit: Revised design below.
  17. I'm surprised no one has posted this yet... http://realtynewsreport.com/2014/11/18/stream-partnership-buys-600-jefferson-tower-in-downtown-houston/ It would be a complete shame if they turned it into a glass box. The exterior could use some TLC, but why not just use that money for the interior/lobby?
  18. I heard from a realtor friend that Randall has secured a site near Discovery Green for a 20+- story condo tower. Supposedly it is "sexy". We shall see. Anyone heard anything?
  19. http://blog.chron.com/primeproperty/files/2014/10/GABLES-MAP-600x450.png http://blog.chron.com/primeproperty/2014/10/gables-to-build-luxury-high-rise-near-river-oaks-district/ The yet-to-be-named building will have 300 units, averaging 1,400 square feet and priced in the range of $2.60 per square foot. Ziegler Cooper designed the building, which will go up on a 2.5-acre site along Westcreek Lane between Westheimer and San Felipe. Joshua Landry, area vice president of investments for Gables Residential, said the building will target “a sophisticated renter with a higher disposable income.” “We are doing a higher level of service, concierge service and amenities we will offer will be different from other projects,” Landry said. This is the company’s first high-rise in Houston, though it has built tall towers in other markets. the building should open about 20 months after construction starts.
