  1. The building was sold last year, so I suspect something must be underway. https://realtynewsreport.com/downtown-houston-tower-sold-for-20-6-million/
  2. I knew of the train noise when I bought. Doesn't really affect me anymore. Got used to it in months. It's been 7 years. Guess I'm lucky.
  3. Out of pure curiosity, what odor? Based on your description, I live fairly close to you (south bank of the Bayou) and don't notice any particular odor. I have lived here for about 7 years though, so I may just be used to it.
  4. As much as I can tell this is dripping in irony, I'd walk for groceries there. Of course, I would walk there cause I live <5min walk away, but still. That said, one of my personal favorite things to do abroad is to visit grocery stores/supermarkets, just to check the out. Great memories of ReWe and their $0.33 beers.
  5. Well, it's definitely not Polk and Emancipation. But please HEB wizards, we request your presence at the Olshan site.
  6. A. Still can't get over how much this looks like Forth B. That train in the background looks like they combined an Amtrak Superliner and the Himalayan Queen to Shimla
  7. https://littleredboxgrocery.com/pages/houston-launch Opens Saturday. Not a large grocery store, but sounds like it will have the essentials plus HEB Meal Simple type prepackaged meals.
  8. Thanks a lot for the recap, excellent stuff! My only concern is how the Cindercade lot could be used as off-site valet given than the lot there is at capacity just about every single day. Maybe with the addition of Dealco's new lot off Bastrop and Commerce, there will be some overflow.
  9. My morbid curiosity prompted me to check. I was going to make that for you, but I draw the line at 498:
  10. Yes. Per my friends working there, they are moving their offices into this building. I asked how they differentiate between this building and Post HTX internally. Apparently Post is Post and this is the "new office."
  11. Forgive the angle, it was windy and the sign was absolutely flying. 6a-2p. Unspecified dates. I wish I could remember what day of the week I went by.
  12. If you tell me 1MDB owns it, I may quite literally die laughing.
  13. It's only been about 18 months, but guess what? Little Red Box appears to be "opening soon." I took the survey ages ago and just got an e-mail with a link to this today: https://littleredboxgrocery.com/pages/houston-launch
  14. See, this is when I miss Swamplot. Imagine how much fun everyone would have looking at the kooky decorations. That said, $1,000,000 is totally worth it for that horse ride thing in photo 7. I want to meet the owners of this place.
  15. Yeah, good luck replacing those warehouses, lol. Those are worth more money than you could ever make of residential housing. Not to mention that, as @Naviguessorcorrectly points out, that right there is the lifeblood of the city. No port, no Houston. Ok, maybe I am exaggerating a little, but not that much.
  16. What, y'all aren't hype for a 12.125 acre Joe's Crab Shack and bulldozing the Pruitt garage for valet parking?! Come on! All jokes aside, as a UH alumni, obviously I love Tillman, but I agree that many of his ventures don't seem like a natural fit in the neighborhood. But hey, maybe they are branching out and diversifying their portfolio. Also, @Moderators, can we please move all the Olshan/Pruitt/Tillman rumor posts into the existing Olshan thread over in the East End sub?
  17. I don't know if I should use the laugh reaction or cry reaction. I reiterate the need for a vomit reaction.
