Unless there has been a change of ownership, I believe the vacant lot behind there is owned by the owners of 3100 Edloe. It has been used as overflow parking for that building for years.
Highrise Tower
A tenant in this complex told me they just renewed their lease for two years. Edited July 18, 2019 by ekdrm2d1
astrohip
I'm somewhat new to this site, so excuse the newbie question: Is there something in this thread, or the links, that tells us WHAT is being built/proposed? I only see where the location is being talked about, not what is being proposed. Thanks. FWIW, I'll be able to photograph this one from our condo balcony. A stone's throw away.

While some of us are actually in the industry in various sub-fields (in architecture myself), we get the info as it comes just like anyone else, either because of our ties or people that we know, or some who know where to look for new things. It just depends on the project. Some are started from rumors, some from realtor ad info, some from official announcements, some from subplat data, and some from COH's various committee meetings. In an example like this, we just know that a property has potential development eye'ed for, but nobody has put forth a solid proposal yet. If you keep scrolling through and jumping to different threads you will see what I mean. Mostly we try to be as engaged and curious as possible whether there is a proposal or not. Hope that helps.

If you want to see what else is going on around town or for other specific projects I would recommend checking out our HAIF Development Map. Highrise Tower
A leasing sign went up the other week. Looks to be The Sliding Door's space. Wonder if this affirms the two year wait.

hindesky
Planning Commission deferred it. Opposition was related to the fact that Alabama Court, the street east of this is very narrow for traffic.
Highrise Tower
The Beverly Residences at Tanglewood from Rama Companies with G.T. Leach. Did this switch locations? Is this a bandit sign for marketing? I noticed there is a new plat proposed for this site. There is also a Notice of Variance Request sign posted in front of the property. hindesky
Planning Commission approved the plat and denied the variance. Neighbors are worried about losing access to their properties and what this could become in the future. They currently only have one way in on a 20' wide road. Urbannizer
Rama Companies will eventually build something here. https://rama-re.com/ RAMA acquired a collector's item location, securing the trophy center from the original family that established it in the late 1960s. With its architectural significance and prime location in River Oaks, the center has been a hub for high-end retailers for over five decades. As the neighborhood flourishes, RAMA has also obtained adjacent land to ensure the center's redevelopment aligns with the area's growth and remains a fitting tribute to its prestigious setting.
Urbannizer
The two homes behind the property, 3 Alabama Court & 3038 Alabama Court are part of redevelopment plans. Initial plat back in 2019 was just for the strip center. https://rama-re.com/

astrohip
I live right there. I walk it all the time, very nice now that Alabama is done. Swiss Garage is a hidden jewel, that's where I take our vehicles.
bobruss
Looking west down Alabama, the property in the lower right corner on the north side of Alabama, starting with the parking lot and continuing through the lot with the two warehouses and the two story law firm building with the vertical windows and the wrap around football size parking lot, looks ripe for a development of some sort. A lot of wasted space. Wonder when someone will make them an offer they can't refuse. I could see a mid rise residential with retail and perhaps a design or decorative center, since so much of that part of Alabama has become a home interior design and home product location. hindesky
When this plat was presented to the Planning Commission the people that live behind this were worried about the future project encroaching on their very narrow street.
