Hopefully more details will be shared in the coming months. I assume Slutty Vegan and Bar Vegan may open in Houston sometime in 2024. With the dining concepts located in downtown's Ballpark District, I think both will receive a lot of foot traffic. Not to mention, the proximity to EaDo's nightlife is going to bring a lot of people to the Purse Building. I noticed the following inclusion to The Purse Building development page last month. This is located on Scarlet Capital's website: We prepared the ground floor for a coveted restaurant and cocktail lounge; the second and third floor will serve as creative workspaces for globally recognized musicians, artists, and businessmen. The Purse Building will soon be among the most culturally relevant buildings in the City of Houston. https://www.scarletcapital.com/developments/the-purse-building I don't think that detail was initially included to Scarlet Capital's website last year. Unfortunately, no one archived the page until recently. Still, I think the detail was added sometime in the last few months. As we now know, the "coveted restaurant" is Slutty Vegan and the cocktail lounge is Bar Vegan. Vegan eateries Slutty Vegan and Bar Vegan will be located on the first floor of The Purse Building. Slutty Vegan will occupy suite 1. I don't know when both eateries plan to open in Houston. I assume once they're given the green light to begin renovations, the businesses may be ready be next spring or early summer. The details aren't new. In fact, it's been available on the site for months. The Purse Building is located at 1701 Commerce St. It's currently undergoing renovations. Design Concept The Purse Building was built for functionality and longevity above all. Its brick envelope and concrete columns are feats of early 20th century modernism. We pared it back to its structural elements and began designing, partnering with HR Design Department. We left our interior bricks exposed and original steel windows in-place, polished the concrete floors, installed a contemporary lighting package reminiscent of Dan Flavin, and grew a secret rooftop garden for those that know how to find it. Natural light floods the workspaces just above the Commerce and Jackson Street tree lines.
