jmitch94
I noticed that a large shipping container was placed in the blue area of the yellow highlighted in the bottom right of this map. Then a couple of days later a construction office trailer was placed on site along with a bulldozer. Also in the map the yellow area in the upper left is being cleared of old foundations and rail tracks. The variance notice mentions "single family" so I'm thinking more town homes but I was wondering if anyone here had more info on either of these two sites.
HNathoo
The development closer to 59 is eado point by cityside homes. Lots of town homes.
AREJAY
The yellow circled on the upper left of your map is Ivy Lofts - 2406 Leeland.
jmitch94
The lot connects to the Ivy Lofts but they are clearing the other part of the lot. Not where the warehouse is .

I ride by the "blue" area on the bike trail almost everyday - I will update with pics and info as things change....I'm not sure what is going in there yet...
bobruss
I noticed that on that map it shows reference to the Energy Institute High School, but the new school is being built on the corner of Tierwester and Sampson in the third ward just west of Scott and a few blocks south of U. of H. and TSU.
HoustonMidtown
Is the existing school (the one shown on the map) going away ? Edited September 15, 2016 by HoustonMidtown
bobruss
I would guess if that is where it's located now probably in an old building, it's temporary because they have cleared the Tierwester/ Sampson lot and signs are up for a nice contemporary campus. I also went to HISD website and saw the renderings and site plan. Should be a great improvement replacing an older apartment project. Wheeler Ave. Baptist church just announced plans for a new mega church on Scott on the lot across from TDECU stadium where the Frenchy's is located. I saw that on here somewhere earlier this week.
Sanjorade
I drove by and there was activity going on. There was a rock path in place that I am assuming will be used for heavy equipment and trucks. Does anyone know if this land sold? It has been listed by Bejjani for quite some time. That used to be Dodson Elementary, which was closed due to low attendance.

HNathoo
I heard this was a laydown site for a job in downtown. I don't think anything is happening here, but I can't confirm.
wilcal
Core/soil sampling happening on site? I'm pretty sure that there is another thread for this but I couldn't find it and that there was a large apartment complex planned at some point.
wilcal
This is on the 9/2 consent agenda to be re-platted to unrestricted. I don't actually know what the change is here if anyone else wants to elaborate. The project is listed as "Hay Center" which honestly may be a joke by the applicant since horses feed on the grasses here. Link to PDF of application.
