This might have been the original site for George Dentler's Pier 21, 60's restaurant and club somewhere amongst those palm trees if memory serves.

His father made a very popular potato chip back in the day. Dentler Maid.

Does anyone remember this?

Pier 21 was located at 7001 Fannin.

You're probably thinking of the Shamrock 4  (later 6) multiplex, which was located at 6900 Main.

Shamrock 4 Cinemas

I went to movies there in the late 70's, until my girlfriend got her purse snatched one night. The parking lot was pretty dark, and it was easy for miscreants to hide.

I thought so. The reason for my confusion is that Google Maps indicates 6900 Main is where the Wyndham Hotel is located.

Address for the Shamrock theaters was 7017 South Main, according to Cinema Houston: From Nickelodeon to Megaplex, excerpt here https://books.google.com/books?id=R6XDCyvuGSkC&pg=PA255&lpg=PA255&dq=shamrock+6+theaters+houston&source=bl&ots=JB4yPVFkU1&sig=ACfU3U0o88mSpgeciQCbiKLSygrgl4I85w&hl=en&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiGsqTgmrvlAhVlmK0KHd_fD4UQ6AEwCXoECAgQAQ#v=onepage&q=shamrock 6 theaters houston&f=false

Yeah, it's clearly the wrong address and I failed to catch it before posting. The article on the Cinema Treasures page announcing the theater's opening even states that it's across the street from the Shamrock Hotel.

That's a big boy excavator right there , time to to start diggin! On other thoughts, wonder what the timeline is? This developer is extremely secretive from the looks of it, but maybe there's a chance they're going to reveal some information soon. Honestly excited this project is even starting.

I saw that the new plat was recommended for approval at 10/28 planning commission meeting with the below comments referencing a "Novus Center Way":

I wasn't quite sure whether this was just a typo or carryover from some prior comments, but did some digging and found this on the Houston map viewer site:

"New Braeswood Way" and "Novus Center Place" appear to be the names of the new streets.  Perhaps "Novus Center" is the name of the new development?

There were 5 deeds recorded on this property this past January, from 7200 Main Corporation to 5 different entities for 5 different portions (7200 Center 1, Inc., 7200 Center 2, Inc., etc.).

I’m guessing this portends a 5 building plan for the site.

Edit: Deeds can be found as Harris County Clerk File Nos. RP 2022-3138 through RP 2022-3142.
