  1. The main reason why the bottom picture looks better than the top is because the Cosmo is obscured by the new.... what's this project called again?
  2. there's two Tesla to TX threads, can they be merged?
  3. that's what it is. The open hostility towards him from elected California officials opened his eyes to what he has to deal with there.
  4. Edit... it has that same trim marker and read wheel opening shape as that 63 Ford 300 posted above
  5. yes, the pink heart with the bumblebees. Heather Johnson did that one.
  6. that's what they said in the 60's as they added the recently removed ugly cladding to that building
  7. it's over by Hotel Alessandra. I hope that's a place holder for a future mural because my friend Heather did an awesome temporary mural that used to sit there. It's companion is on the Dallas Street side of the House Of Blues.
  8. that's my favorite spot in downtown. The 8th floor of that garage has been closed to parking for a while
  9. he's talking about moving the factory and everything to Texas (or Nevada). Houston would be perfect since we have transportation hubs for air, rail, and sea.
  10. the curve is right, there appears to be an emblem in the right place, sticking with 65 Coronet. https://dealeraccelerate-all.s3.amazonaws.com/streetside/images/1/9/9/8/0/19980/7531133c2a1b7f_hd_1965-dodge-coronet-500.jpg
  11. looks like a 65 Coronet to me, but that's my Mopar or no car bias talking
  12. I'll have to go into town for this. The only B-25 i have seen is the one at the Milwaukee Airport, and it's a display, not a flying aircraft.
  13. the land was cheap, and Michigan and Ohio emptied out and moved to Texas in the late 70's/early 80's, so they had to build housing somewhere. A lot of those guys already owned the lands in that area- the Westwood Country Club was opened as a Jewish country club. All of those apartments were nice when they were built 40-45 years ago, they all turned to crap as they aged.
  14. they did build it in Philly, minus about 400'.
  15. Affordable housing has to go somewhere, and part of the affordable part is low cost land. You would prefer that the East End stay all shotgun shacks and 1930's apartment buildings? That's what y'all got in the 70's when they stopped the Harrisburg Freeway
  16. tear down the apartment complexes and the area will be fine. It's a good spot for middle income people who have to live somewhere.
  17. damn, I was hoping it was going to be so close someone in the new tower could reach out, knock on the window of someone at the Cosmo, and ask them if they have any grey poupon.
  18. The Southway 6 was named after the strip center it was in, Southway. The theater at West Airport and Fondren was named after the chain it belonged to. I can't remember off the top of my head, it was a really long time ago. I spent far more time at Southway than at the other.
  19. 1100, did you look for paper towels upstairs at Phoenicia? Their deli is still open, I swing by every once in a while if I'm downtown.
  20. Do you remember? Pepperidge Farm remembers... it seems like another lifetime ago... LOL
  21. the aggy aggey aggie vs longhorn posts deserve their own thread, they have nothing to do with Rice.
  22. Medical offices are just offices with specialized equipment. you don't really need a specialized building until you have beds and surgery centers.
