Not that I have ever been a Toyota/Lexus fan - but that new grill really cements it for me

Look, for the price of the said Commerce Tower unit, you would be Downtown, On the Light Rail, furnish your entire pad in Roche Bobois, with some left over for a Mercedes or luxury car of your choice. Your pool has probably the best views in the entire city, 24hr Concierge, 24hr Valet, Bi-weekly dry cleaning services, car wash service, emergency generator, and an HPD officer on site 24/7 (Plus much much more). LOL sorry sounds like I'm really interested in the Commerce Towers and playing around with 500K I don't have.
I get it comes down to personal preference, it just seems like they are way over-pricing these units.
Edit: I guess you could combine 3 of the smaller units to get a 900 square foot place for what, 357k?
Feeeeees. What are they at Commerce? I think folks are hoping they'll be rock bottom at Ivy.
Nevermind - current Commerce listings on HAR list fees at $ .575 / sq ft. / month.

Is the architect for 10 Legend known? And no residential exemption, a company (or cover company/trustee situation?) now owns it since the 2011 renovation.

Thanks for the update.

And here's the street view of the Westheimer/610 location. Roof changed, but those stone pillars are still there:

If you check out the 45 degree angle view on Google Maps you can see where another tenant (seem to remember Jack in the Box moved in) expanded the building. They kept the right half of the slanted roof but filled in the left half to accommodate the drive-thru.
Wow...thanks for pointing that out!

And here's the thread about the one verified by SpaceGhost on Crosstimbers:

There was one at Richmond and Chimney Rock - it's a Title Max now:

and an employment advertisement for it from the April 20, 1977 issue of the Bellaire Texan:

Yeah, this was a long time coming, and the former Chief Motel. Nothing posted for construction yet.

Yep, permit issued...too bad it couldn't be used. That whole part of Texas is sure different these days. This was one of my favorite pictures, Hogan-Allnoch in the lower corner, from the roof of the William Penn Hotel:

Is that the building currently housing the Hungry Farmer BBQ?
Bumping this because I'm curious too - I have a page waiting for the Hungry Farmer on Crosstimbers but I'm having a difficult time finding out what was originally there from about 1969 (when it was built) to 1975 (when Hungry Farmer was there).

Well, not much was going on there last time I went by (about a month ago). Did the contract fall through?
-
Was the one you have an address for at or near Memorial City Mall?

It looks like the Lake Jackson Shipley's on Dixie Dr. was converted (built in 1965).

That's the old Waddell's warehouse - an old time Houston store:

It was decent with a sunset reflection

Great photo! Where's it from? Can I have a copy?!
This building reminds me so much of the Marriott Marquis today from this angle.

Fleeting, like many fads. I think it was really only popular for a decade or so, from the early 1950s to 1960s. The post-modernism of the 1980s and brutalism of the 1970s also had short shelf lives.
I just dug up some old photos, and when I get the chance I'm going to do a post on Houston's historic turquoise buildings.
Oooooh I'm looking forward to your turquoise post!!!

Great news! I have some pictures of it (interior and exterior) from about 2009 that I'll get around to posting soon!
