Yeah I know what you mean. But according to the Chronicle http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/headli...ro/4188462.html So maybe it's Costco and mixed use. I do hope they do a lot more than just another box store

True, or until you see one of these right outside your window

Don't thank me. I think nmguy or Red originally brought it to everyone's attention. I just kept it to spread support for rail down Richmond.

Cool, thanks for the update. On their site it says the official groundbreaking is 16 Oct. So it looks like they're rolling along to make that date

I don't know about all that. Compared to 10 years ago it's loads safer and cleaner and has slowly been progressing. I have been there off and on since Nov. (when in town)Some weeknights are happening some aren't. Weekends are usually buzzing. Weekdays are usually busy with workers and visitors. I see downtown on the right track, with the new park, Finger's building, and Houston Pavilions on there way

Good it's just not me. I just noticed the WTC, I'm thinking it's just for 9/11 Day(I'm sure it will become a Holiday like Pearl Harbor day, so future generations won't forget)

Don't really care much for Maxim, didn't really care if I got it back(read all there was to read in it). The only reason I got it was because it was the only thing that wasn't a porn, workout or gun magazine in the mini PX. But if I did have it I would of posted the picture here for those who haven't seen it. Oh Well

I doubt it. The land for the new UHD building is already cleared and is being built. I Believe they were already on the 2nd floor and the parking garage was coming along aswell.

They cleared out the AstroWorld land without yet committing to build anything. I'll wait till the ribbon cutting ceremony or official announcement before I get my hopes up

I'm really late. I saw that add a cuople weeks ago in Maxim aswell. I don't really look at ads either, but it just hit me "Hey, that's Houston!" I let a buddy take the mag to the porta-john and that was the last I saw of it, if not I would post the ad. Was expecting something about "Houston area Jeep dealer" too. The park is Sam Houston park in the foreground if I'm not mistaken. Tinsley park is a bit further down Allen Parkway.

It is a new sub. Maybe in 50 some odd years or whenever it retires it can be parked along side the battleship in the San Jacinto historic site.

I second that. Keep them coming.

Here it is wededg@aol.com. It was originally on the HP site but I think he might of removed it becuase too many people were bugging him. I'm still waiting on our ussual nay sayers to post their usual nay sayer remarks "sure it got moved back....cuz it's not going to be built....I'm always right...blah blah...." Then people like me to say something like "these projects take time.....there is a lot involved.....the project is still a GO" until this thing gets built or is officially killed off. Thanks for the update C2H. As for the HAIF groundbreaking, whose that person that plans the HAIF get togethers? Get him/her to work their majic

LOL, I really hope your joking

Astro's are down by seven games in the NL central and only down by four games for the wild card. I would think that with only about a month left in the season that there would be a bit more hype here. I was fortunate enough to see the Stros spank Pittsburgh 14-1 earlier this month. That was probably my last game of the season.

Holy crap you got ripped off, sorry man . I usually take a cab from IAH to north Houston. I looked it up and your destination is slightly closer than mine. I pay $26.00. I usually check before I jump in the cab

I was in town for about two days in transit from and to Ft. Hood. Back in the UK now. Wish I could of spent more time in town, oh well maybe next time.

Yeah, I just come back from Fort Hood/ Killeen. Everything was a crispy brown. Then it was made worse when firing on the ranges, we would have to stop firing every few minutes to put out a range fire. We burnt a good chunk of West Ft Hood As soon as we got into the Conroe area we got some much appreciated rain. Houston was a very pleasant green

METRORail University Line
Houstonian in Iraq replied to ricco67's topic in Traffic and Transportation
Yeah I know it was put to a vote. It just looks like Metro will cave in to the AOers and Culberson. I would like to see them just grow a pair and make the move to just build it down the best route(Richmond). I'm sure there are more Houstonians wanting this rout than there is AOers. A vote on a specific route will make it official. Yeah it will take more time but it sure beats getting stuck with a crappy Westpark route. But like yall mentioned people might not come out or support a vote thinking they already did or just becuase their tired of hearing about it and don't care now- 4,315 replies

METRORail University Line
Houstonian in Iraq replied to ricco67's topic in Traffic and Transportation
I was thinking. How hard would it be to put the Richmond rail to a city wide vote? Now that we have specific routes in mind, why not let the city (the people who are paying for it and will use it) vote on the best route? This way there is no confusion on what the people want and what Metro will do- 4,315 replies
