    I could of swore there was a thread covering St. Joseph's future. If anyone finds it feel free to merge Anyways, it looks like the 119year old Hospital has found a new buyer. It appears that the new owner will continue running it as it has been. I think some people suggested turning it into housing, I'm glad it will still remain a hospital. Yeah housing especially moderately priced housing would be a plus for downtown growth, but a hospital is a much needed amenity for the neighborhood. Here's the Chronicle story

    I think that the media is trying to make it more into a minorityit versus a majority thing than what it really is. That story sales papers and attracts veiwers. Even though the minority thing may be a factor, I also think that when it was revealed a lot of people just didn't like it. I never thought 1836 was going to make it. I think it just requires too much brain power for the average joe at first and just scares them. It's alright, it could be better.

    It was announced on channel 11 news. The name is suppose to be a Houston pride thing instead it did turn into a sore subject. Texans see it as a year when Texas gained its independence. Mexican's see that year as the beginning of the lost of Half their land by an invading foreign country. Foreign in language, religion, ethnicity, and over all culture. Unlike the US and the Brits. The Brits were faster to recuperate because there was and is a common religion, language, ethnicity and culture.     Yeah, I just heard. I'm thinking Lonestars, is the best of the bunch. They can keep the same logo just change the "1836" to "Lonestars" A lonestar is already part of the logo and the soccer ball and Sam Houston silluete can stay

    This is definitely great news. Between being away due to work, deployments and such I go to school here. Nice to see UHD grow, it has plenty of potential to continue to do so. It adds to the hodgepodge that is Downtown

    I never really liked this building either pretty much for all the reasons stated above. It would be nice if they relocate this courthouse to where all those other courthouses are. Demolish this one and add some sort of theater therefore linking the Hobby Center with the rest of the theater district. But what to put in it's place...... some one mentioned in another thread that Downtown needs more mainstream Movie theaters .....so how about a multi story AMC 100 theater. With reclining, speaker embedded seats. Where major world premiers could be held, to include independent and foreign films. Of course have some screenings that are 21 and over with booze and food. I really don't care as long as something else is built there....Ok I'm rambling now....... going to bed now ....it's late...night night people
