  1. Sweet I'll be happier after the announcement then Groundbreaking then the Grand opening is right around the corner
  2. Yeah that's what Mr Denton said in his latest email (above). He had mentioned it moved from the 19th to the 25th. With both of you saying this I'm sure tomorrow or the next is the big announcement. Thanks for the heads up
  3. Yeah it was a previous thread and it's primary use will be used for office space
  4. Here is an update on the BP phase II They're expecting to finish in March.
  5. You can't just post something like that and expect people to believe you. I at least I posted the email response I received from the guy on their website If we haven't heard any major anouncements by the 26th I'll email Mr Denton to see what he has to say.Edit: Just sent another email to Mr Denton today the 23 Jan short and to the point.
  6. I believe I heard that the Texas Cyclone can't be relocated due to it being such a complex wooden roller coaster. So it seems like this is the end of the road for it. So it's anyone's guess on how they would deal with all that wood.
  7. I have been searching news papers and stations to see if there's any press releases yet. So far no luck. Last time they a big announcement The news about the land purchase was a few days to a week off from what we expected. So I'm giving it some time before I dismiss it.
  8. I believe the people running the The Shops see potential in it. Yeah they haven't been too big on getting the word out about the the Shops, mainly because they just catered to the 9-5 crowd(lunch crowd) and were okay with that. But now that the Houston Pavilions will be going up they may see a surge in Downtown Houston retail, and they want in on it. So therefore they are sprucing up the place. Some of those Houston Pavilion customers might just spill over two blocks over to their place while looking for parking or just walking around the area. As for retailers moving there I'm sure the pavilions will run out of space and retailers who don't get in it will look at the next best thing (concentration of retail) The Shops. I don't think that they expect to make it into a premier mall but just to compliment the Pavilions and to get a downtown retail district going.
  9. Thanks for the update. It looks great, It's so far, bigger than I imaged it
  10. THis hasn't much to do with this thread, but if you click on the link above and scroll down there are pictures of my old Elementry school........ahhh th memories
  11. I'm with you West Grey Fewer surface lots the better. Parking especially as that area gets more and more developed will be a problem. Seeing that they will be tearing up that space for the construction of the park we might as well take care of potential parking problems now than later. Will the garage revenue go towards the building of the park and the up keep? If so yeah I
  12. Yeah I'm sure it's looking really bad. Last I checked about two months ago there was still some major renovating. I'm hoping they do find some better tenants if not to replace the lousy ones they have now at least to fill in all the empty spaces. More ground retail and maybe a few more windows would make it a bit more appealing to potenial shoppers. Ultimately, the complete renovated Houston center along with the new Houston Pavilion will spark a major much needed urban retail district.
  13. Can someone post some pictures of this place? For those of us who are not there. Appreciate it
  14. Like Nando's, it's a restaurant chain offering food from Portugal. This place is great and would make a killing in Houston. They're growing here in the UK and are rapidly spreading to other parts of the world( I believe California might have a couple). The food and atmosphere are Great, if you come across one you won't be disapointed. Mmmmm Nando's
  15. I sent an e-mail a couple days ago to the address listed on the Houston Pavalions site. Asking for more information, this was their response.
  16. Yeah you mean these metal structures This picture isn't the greatest a bit shaky, we were in a hurry to beat the traffic after the Rockets game
  17. Thanks for the picture Red. Now I know what building y'all are talking about. Passed by it hundreds of times.
  18. I guess this is what LargeTX was talkining about it appears the project is one more step closer to happening Here's the entire article
  19. What about Paul Wall? Is he going to have his own jewelry store there selling grills
  20. It would still give residents more options having both. Yeah right now they are closed after business hours, if everything goes well tunnels or sections of them might extend their hours.
  21. Garciaparra sounds promising, if he can fully recover. The 05 team was great and pretty well rounded, but we need some heavy hitters. Ausmus is coming back which is great, lets wait and see on who else is.
