  1. Sweet, development on Washington is always a plus. There wasn't any renderings on the site as to how big this may be?
  2. True, out with the old in with the new plus added residents so it's not that bad
  3. The Covenant House is really nearby. About a block or two away. It's mostly for young runaways. A friend worked there for a while. He said that most of those teens are on some sort of Medication. Which would explain why this guy I new in my class at UHD started tripping after he got kicked out. He accused me of sending people after him to spy on him and left some weird messages on my v-mail and e-mail. I helped him as much as I could until he starting acting like that. Hard to rationalize with an irrational person. Most people who also knew him expect him to be dead or homeless by now . I'm sure they take donations.
  4. It's like that around many military towns. That is the general make up of the military. People from everywhere getting posted everywhere. Ft Hood is the largest Military installation so you see way more diversity.
  5. I thought you were kidding until I saw the picture on your blog......You go MAN!!! How did yall come up with a Jesus Monkey car???
  6. I call everyone kid, man, cheif, dude ect....what part of "drop it and PM me" didn't you understand "Dawg". Edit PS just sent you a PM, got the ball rolling. Now this thread can stay on track
  7. This came to mind after Houston got it's soccer team. I would like to know how we would get a World Cup too. Is it the same or similar process as the Olympics? This would give Houston major world attention as the World Cup eclipses almost any sports event in the rest of the World
  8. This has been discussed in other threads for a while, I would just like this to finally take off. Yeah I know loads of planning is involved, I'm just a bit anxious. It sounds great Completion date is '09 for this and '07 for Houston Pavilions, with ground breaking only a few months apart. I'm sure there are other factors involved but two years difference Oh well as long as it gets built
  9. Hey kid your the one taking this a bit too far with the personal attacks. I just said I don't like them.....Booh hoo that's my opinion it's not the end of the world and society won't crumble and my little world will still be happy . If you have anything else to say to me you can just PM me....this "discussion" is over on my end Now I'm off to watch some freakin TV
  10. How did your Cinco De Mayo trip to Houston go? If you don't mind me asking? What did you do?
  11. It was my opinion that these huge screens are a bit gaudy(let me check.....yeah I'm still entitled to my opinion ) . I'm sure there are better ways of "keeping with the times" than doing what everyone else is doing. The electronic billboards are hardy up there with skyscrapers or even street lights. I'm sure that civilization will survive. They're TV screens, get over it kid . believe me, my world is far from sad or little
  12. Hey ....Hey Good bye http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/front/3857336.html
  13. Hey, I just heard about this on the radio. You can go to this website and view season one of Lost for free. It's for a limited time, from 9May until 23May. I haven't tried it yet. Season two episodes are suppose to be available a week after transmission.
  14. $8? I wish more like $16 the most I spent was in London two tickets for 21 pounds, thats a little less than $40.00, that's just the movie. I didn't realize it until after the movie. Crash was alright but $40
  15. I havn't jumped on the bandwagon yet. Would I have to start from the beggining to keep from getting lost?
  16. This would open up Galveston to people who would normally not go because of the drive and vice versa. It's been years since I last went to Galveston
  17. Thanks for the pics. Don't know about the Giant TV screens. Seems like they are trying too hard to be like a certain other city, they should just be themselves.
  18. I doubt Houston will find itself in the state that Detroit is. It has diversified since the 80s. With Houston's ship channel, TMC and other industries other than oil I doubt that it will ever come to stagnation
  19. You back for good or just visiting? Either way have fun
  20. Interesting sounds like some Walmarts found up North. I wonder how long the high classness will last. I give it five years max before it starts looking like Dunville or I-45 N Walmart.
  21. For the life of me I couldn't remember what building this was so I looked it up Now I remember, this is a pretty swanky place according to their website. I really can't see why it doesn't appear to be doing as well as you say. Is that street level potential corner still vacant?
  22. I agree Root memorial park was a huge bum jamboree. I remember driving by and saw what looked like a festival then I noticed everyone there was a bum. Root park did bring down the bum population there I'm sure this park won't be a bum haven either. Bums are a fact of life we will see some ......wait a minute....yeah that's it ....... I just got over it
