  1. Stobe lights! That would be cool. Actually, maybe the best solution is to set up a desk in the front lawn and charge the drunks for 'admitance' to the party. You might make a killing.
  2. I thought the problem was those with a little TOO much voice. At 2am. Outside your window.
  3. I'm not thinking about it as a case where you are trying to reclaim public right of way, just trying to mitigate rudeness from particular pedestrians at a particular time and place. Maybe watering just to the edge of your lawn would be sufficient deterrent.
  4. I've stopped watching this type of show because they always exclaim that the food is great. It's a running joke in our house that Guy Fieri tosses his cookies off camera after some of his tastings. I'll start watching again when some host takes a bite and every once in a while tells us the food is only so-so.
  5. Yeah, I just copied the headline from the news report. I guess it couldn't be all that iconic since I understand it was only up for a month or so.
  6. Eh, that's a case where the guy went after his wife with a water hose and then elbowed her. If you stood there by the faucet and turned on the water every time someone passed, there might be a case, but I'm thinking it'd be hard to prove intent if you just turned your sprinklers on for a few hours and you just happened to choose Saturday nights to water your lawn.
  7. Artists behind iconic Houston sculpture sue Honda over ad From the Chron... http://www.chron.com/cars/article/Artists-behind-iconic-Houston-sculpture-sue-Honda-4492140.php?cmpid=hpfsln#photo-4583643 Here's the video in question...
  8. I think the law only applies if the person being sprayed finds it offensive, not if the young ladies are lined up wanting to be sprayed. I am curious, though, if there's any case law to support assault by water sprinkler.
  9. Ha! That exact name crossed my mind as I made that post.
  10. Wait, are we talking about the Dallas Galleria or the DART trains? We should congratulate DFW on it's extensive highway system. They've got parts or all of 8 named Interstates vs only 4 for Houston and 6 US highways vs 3 for Houston. I haven't found the stats for miles of highways, but the DFW area is so crisscrossed with them that I suspect they've got us beat in total miles as well. We need to build more to catch up.
  11. I kinda wish they wouldn't do things like this. It's just going to exaggerate our ongoing border problem.
  12. That's hilarious. In the same vein, Austin should name one of it's terminals after Perry.
  13. I propose they put "Intergalactic" on continuous loop at the front door of the newly named airport.
  14. Most likely the HOU designation was for Houston, regardless of the name of the airport at the time, since that was our main airport when the designations went into effect. IAH no doubt stands for Intercontinental Airport Houston, its original name.
  15. Probably a little late for that now. At least he'll it's noon when the house passes into the shade.
  16. It's been a few years since I've been there but the last time I was in Dallas it was surrounded by wide open, flat, cheap land all the way to the Oklahoma border. Did some geographical anomaly occur in the last 12 years or so that prevents developers from buying that land and putting up more suburbs?
  17. Who said anything about voting for Democrats?
  18. A slideshow of color images from around 1960 from the Chron... http://blog.chron.com/bayoucityhistory/2013/05/color-images-provide-rare-sight-into-houstons-past/?cmpid=hpfsln#11882-1
  19. How about this: Bush Intercontinental changes back to Houston Intercontinental Hobby becomes Houston International Ellington Field becomes Houston Intergalactic http://www.nasa.gov/centers/johnson/home/endeavour_visit.html
  20. Was trying to figure out where this took place. There's a large, unique looking building in the background from 1:08 to 1:11 on the video. Anyone recognize it?
  21. I read somewhere that originally the name was Jet Era but someone made a typo and it ended up being Jetero.
  22. That'll be quite an urban canyon on the right side of the rendering.
  23. I agree. Not that I have anything against 41, but Houston Intercontinental just sounds better and doesn't leave anyone wondering where the airport is.
