  1. Starting to rise over the Houston Skyline. Taken from jfre81's Heights Thread.
  2. A lot more info and rendering in the site. This sounds pretty unique, its pretty much all over the place , though. And I don't really know what a "reseach institution" has to do with the theme park. But, the theme park itself is great.
  3. A clearer update. Flickr Rainer Ebert If you look closely, you see Hess Tower rise over One Park Place. I really think Hess Tower is taller than OPP now. Flickr fabfemme
  4. I reallly like this view and perspective. Both from flickr Rainer Ebert
  5. I second the nice comment. Heres a different perspective on just how massive the building is. Flickr can-da-chee garcia
  6. Finally! Looks like something's going to get done.
  7. Found these on Flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/21188379@N03/4436873524/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/dsavory/4448995453/sizes/l/
  8. Authority Likely to Join Dynamo Stadium Project http://www.myfoxhouston.com/dpp/sports/100319-authority-close-to-joining-dynamo-stadium-project The article also mentions how exactly the Sports Authority "will become actively involved", "if all those things happen".
  9. Update by flickr jeffbalke from Reliant Park http://www.flickr.com/photos/jeffbalke/4441487476/
  10. True, I forgot that most theme parks add new rides every other year or so to keep it fresh. Now, I wonder how much admission will cost?
  11. As I was reading all the updates, all of this sounded like a scam operation. But, that's just my cynicism. This looks cool, although I wish this was more "theme park-ish", doesn't look like that many trill rides and attractions, still should be great if this does end up happening. With that said, I'm holding my breath on this project.
  12. Woah! Ohio is its own state with multiple "major" cities in its own. Its a lesser version of TX in a sense.
  13. 19 injured. http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/metropolitan/6914180.html
  14. Yeah, I know. But I just grouped them together as the MSA's border each other. And they are similar for the most part. They should be considered one CSA, I guess its due to commuter patterns or something.
  15. Couldn't find an article on the Chron. So I went to ABC 13, but found a ridicilously short article. 39 News had good info. And a quick google search found this blog that looks intresting, "OffCite". Also when did the Tolerance Bridge change names to the Rosemont bridge? It broke ground yesterday at 11 am, with Mayor Parker on hand. http://www.39online.com/lifestyle/goinggreen/kiah-gg-new-buffalo-bayou-bridge-story,0,3629061.story http://offcite.org/2010/03/14/the-bridge-formerly-known-as-tolerance
  16. I guess you can kind of, sorta, say Buffalo is a major city, but not really. In that case, in addition to the major metros of Houston, DFW, San Antonio, and Austin, you would be able to say that El Paso and South Texas(McAllen+Brownsville) are major metros as well.
  17. I thought he meant nothing to offer in the sense that there is no other major city to visit. Obviously, every state has something to offer in terms of outdoor activities.
  18. Such a great game. Just when I thought the Coogs weren't going to be able to turn it around, they do just that. Great day(and year) for UH, and Houston. Yates, UH, and Rockets all won yesterday. Too bad for TSU, but I didn't really care for them anyhow.
