  2. just skimmed through the thread, but i can see the title says 20+ stories, do we know how high this will end up? apologize in advance if its been posted before.
  3. I hope that in a few years, the entire DG area will be surrounded by high-rises..
  4. i don't know if its been mentioned before, but i know that i tried to google discovery tower , and it would never have its own website. Well it does now... http://www.discoverytowerhouston.com/
  5. thanks, the majority of the reasons i dont like rainy/cloudy days is because in an area like the museum district/hermann park/ect theres alot of things in the background that would be more clearer to see if it werent so cloudy. for example, if it were less cloudy you would be able to see the tower clearer
  6. yeah i'm really proud of this one, probably my best animal photography image, ever it was perfect timing , the duck kept following me around as if i had bread, but i shooed it off, and it decided to go into the lake. and that's when i took the picture
  7. not everything, its whoever donates the most or owns the property or makes huge contributions ......
  8. Im guessing so, when i went yesterday it had little donation booths about the museum's second century , and i'm pretty sure the donation booth had a picture of the duncan family wing.
  9. Good news, for a moment i actually thought this thing would get demolished.
  10. I visited the Houston Museum of Natural Science and took pictures on one of the worst days possible, but since i don't visit that area often, i decided to take pictures. Just watch out for the occasional blurry picture, and off-angled picture HMNS Sam Houston Statue/ Views from
  11. In my first post, it said something about that the museum was only built for 200,000 student to visit every year. Today over 500,000 students visit, so it might be that they didn't have enough classrooms or learning centers. That might be the reason for it being a family wing? but my guess is that its because of the Duncan Family.
  12. HMNS@100: Celebrate a Century of Science Thanks to burgeoning demand for the Museum's educational exhibitions and programs, we currently host 500,000 schoolchildren annually
  13. This was probably posted before, but a refresher nonetheless for that area of Hess/Discovery Tower
  14. Well if not another theme park, this the next best thing, but this just adds to the list of the already many business districts of Houston. If built, of course....
  15. I liked Cullen State University but, i picked these 3: Texas Gulf Coast State University- huge regional ties Gulf Coast State University-its the best one imo, makes a name for it self yet has a minute regional tie University of Southeast Texas-moderate regional ties
  16. You have to consider that they're moving locations, now i'm not all sure about leasing contracts but i'm sure that's one of the reason why the wont move until the end of 2009. Maybe they're contract in 2HC requires them to stay a little longer.
  17. nice, all developments that are in construction in downtown are above street level
  18. It would be better to make it into a public square or plaza, imo.
