  1. Brian Distefano, marketing manager of the 43,000- square-foot House of Blues, which opened in October, said the Pavilions location has had the most financially successful launch in the 13-unit company's history. Wow... that's pretty impressive considering some of the other locations they have.
  2. Ha ha ha... sorry... love the way that sounds... simple and right to the point. I agree.
  3. Most people aren't going to know that... if they take the light rail they are going to go to the "Houston Zoo" station since it says... "Houston Zoo"! They need to add "Houston Zoo weekday / alternative" to the name of the Hermann Park light rail station.
  4. Here's something that bugged me. My family came to visit in the spring and they stayed Downtown on Main Street. We took the train to the zoo one weekday (mainly for my 2 year old niece) and got off at the "Houston Zoo" station and had to walk all the way around to the other side of the zoo to enter b/c the entrance closest to the train station is not open on weekdays. When we left we walked through Hermann Park and caught the train on the Hermann Park / Rice U station to get back to Downtown... shorter walk.
  5. Is this it now? Scott Gertner's Skybar If so it looks like a really nice place... definitely something I would like to check out!
  6. Seems like several things are going to open in July... at least that's what the website says... including Pete's Dueling Piano Bar... that's one I am looking forward too.
  7. I agree... although I do love 1000 Main... one of my favorite Downtown buildings.
  8. I heard a rumor that it may be opening next weekend... it just has to pass inspection... we will see.
  9. Great news!! First One Park Place was going up... and as that finished up Hess Tower went up and now this hotel... that area is being totally transformed!!
  10. Is the Wells Fargo sky lobby open to the public? I know it was in the past but then they closed it... is it open to the public again?
  11. Anyone know if this is open yet or when it will be opening? I haven't been to the Galleria in a while so was just wondering.
  12. All I heard was that it's a combination of a bird flu, a pig flu and a human flu... and each virus has several strands or something and most are human flu which is why it spreads so easily between humans. Wikipedia has a lot of info on it.... Swine Flu - Wikipedia
  13. Eeeek... they shut down the elementary and middle school in the Heights that are right near my house... said there was a confirmed case at each school... kind of scary. I was at Target today and noticed the Purell sanitizer was all gone.
  14. That is too funny... just goes to show you that even though we grow up there is still always a kid inside of us.
