    Why weird? At first I was like... "how can they do that w/ the warm weather"... but then I realized there's an ice rink inside the Galleria mall where it's even warmer (in the winter that is)... so obviously the technology exists.

    They are preparing it for the rink... they have drain it and install special pipes and stuff to make the skating rink. I believe I read that on DG's website.

    Hey... with tha will come lower electric bills! But anyways, I really like this place... live right down the road and have been watching them build it... it's a nice addition to that area.

    They have broke ground on more of the development.... looks like where the Petsmart, Fat Burger and Dickey's BBQ will be.

    Took my boyfriend Downtown to eat lunch Saturday after I got off work... wanted to go to HOB but it was closed to the public b/c of the Grand Opening! So, we went to the Spaghetti House... one of our fav places!

    Wow that would be awsome... taking over an entire tower! Guess we will have to build yet another tower Downtown. "Discovery Tower is designed to have 871,000 square feet of space upon completion. Hess is said to be considering leasing the extra 71,000 square feet to keep anyone else from taking space in the building being developed by Trammell Crow Co. next to Discovery Green park." This line made me chuckle... ha ha... it's like... "This is OUR tower and you can't come in! ". If there is demand for space they will want to build... securing financing would be the only tricky part w/ the way the economy is now.

    I thought it would be nice if everything opened together, but if some stores are ready to open and they can open and begin making money why not just let them open.

    Whenever I go to A&F or Hollister there are always shoppers there... I wouldn't want there to be many more b/c you would be bumping into them all the time.

    Not sure... I believe HOB has a restaurant that may have been open... I saw them putting the finishing touches on M&S... didn't really see anything else... but I didn't really look around the entire place.

    Thanks. I stopped by HP today... didn't go into XXI, though... figured it was just for girls. I went into Books-a-Million... really nice... and for those who were bummed it wasn't a Borders or something similar... well, they are basically the same thing! I bought two Halloween cards for family members... so I supported HP. he he It will be MUCH BETTER once more stores are open. They also need to put some sort of pedestrian crossing from the end blocks to the middle block on street levels... I know you are "supposed" to walk to the corners to cross but since there's a walkway down the middle of HP most people are going to cross in the middle between the corners... they were doing it today.

    Well after all that waiting it's officially open... at least parts of it. I am looking forward to Lucky Strike. :-) Does XXI offer clothes for guys too or just girls?

    Windows are still boarded up but the observation deck is open... my family was in town this past weekend and I took them up there.

    It was supposed to open Oct. 8th... they are 2 weeks behind due to Hurricane Ike... so now they are saying the end of October.

    Not sure... it seemed weird b/c if you look at the floor plan there is space for shops on the 2nd floor between the 1st and 3rd floor HOB space.

    I see Qatar Air opened an office there... ha ha... that's interesting. And Lucky Strike is on the 3rd floor... didn't see that coming. Also weird... HOB is on the 1st floor and 3rd floor but not 2nd.
