I thought they were going to have annual New Years Eve celebrations on Main Street... did that ever happen? Discovery Green would also be a good place to have something.
-
It's so weird... I just drove by this development like 2 days ago and said to myself... "well there is one development not affected by the economy"... spoke too soon.

GreenStreet: Mixed-Use Development At 1201 Fannin St.

Most of HP is not even open yet, of course it kind of sucks now... more and more will open in the coming months. Add to that the state of the economy and of course they are going to have a hard time filling in what's empty... we are lucky it even got built. Once the economy picks up which it always does eventually things will improve... just something we have to deal with. -

Embassy Suites By Hilton Houston Downtown At 1515 Dallas St.

I wouldn't be surprised... especially b/c of, like you said, the detail put into it. I know the city would like a second convention center hotel and with the way things are going I wouldn't be surprised if it happens... it may get delayed a bit b/c of the recession... I guess only time will tell.- 956 replies

The whole Discovery Green thing has been such a success... a few years ago it was just a bunch of lots not we have a beautiful park, a new apartment high rise, an office tower going up, and now another hotel about to go up... awsome!- 956 replies

No... not that dressy. It's not really what you have to wear, it's what you can't wear. Here's their dress code.... The following are not permitted: - Athletic wear, sweats or sports jerseys - MC colors - Excessively baggy clothing (Tuck-ins are not permitted) - Sleeveless T-shirts - Plain white T-shirts (short or long sleeve) - Construction boots - Headgear - Chains - Ripped or soiled clothing -

It is more expensive than regular bowling alleys... it's meant to be more of an "upscale" type of bowling place... I am looking forward to checking it out. -

Dress code applies to all Lucky Strike Lanes... all locations and all lanes. I like the idea... there are more than enough places for people to go who don't care how they dress. -

Give it time for more places to open and more tenants to sign on... it will be much better... it could take time, however, for new tenants to sign on with the current financial crises... we will see. -

No, the water fountains the kids play in are across from the rink... the rink is in an area that was part of the lake... they drained it and have now installed the rink.- 1,031 replies

I was wondering what that place was. I was Downtown the other evening and just took a stroll through HP and noticed the Foundation Room... it was set apart from everything else and was basically just a door with someone guarding it... weird... I was wondering if it was part of HOB. As for HOB, the night I walked by (around sunset) there were a lot of people outside walking in and out... lots of street traffic around that area. That restaurant / bar right across the street from HOB must be thrilled it's finally open. -
Great Pics ChannelTwoNews!! I can't wait to see this building rise... going to be one of the nicest buildings in Downtown!

No. I could see having the tunnels for people to walk when it's raining or really hot and humid... I just wish the retail part of it was above ground.
-
I wish they would close the tunnels... or at least move all of the retail and stuff above ground to street level.

Seriously... most of it is not even open yet... good lord give it some time. -
Hopefully... I don't know why they could change it. The light was blue b/c it's Continental's building... it matched their logo. Why would they change that?
