  1. The new Embassy Suites Downtown has made an effort to stick to the eco-friendly example set by its neighbor, Discovery Green. Now the commitment to going green will extend to the hotel restaurant. CultureMap has learned that Embassy Suites is in serious discussions on opening a new Ruggles Green as a street-level lunch and dinner restaurant inside the hotel. New Embassy Suites plans to keep it green — Ruggles Green — downtown
  2. Just saw that for the first time driving into work .... all different colors were flashing... I really liked it... they should maybe slow down the colors a bit but I like all of the different colors.
  3. I drive up and down Montrose Blvd. almost every day... sometimes a few times a day... looking forward to watching this building go up... I really like it.
  4. Crane is up... passed it today while driving up Main Street... caught me by surprise I was wondering what was going on!
  5. My favorite thing about this building is how "reflective" it is... love the cladding... looks great when you are at Discovery Green!
  6. I really love this building... am loving how it turned out!
  7. Woo hoo!! :-) Very exciting... building another stadium in the Downtown area... and for a team that actually wins championships!
  8. It's really going to look great from the park once it's finished.
  9. ABC13 is reporting this morning an agreement has been reached to build the stadium near Downtown.
  10. I live near this building... been enjoying watching it go up... definitely a tall one.
  11. I agree... a lot of glass, to me, says office tower... OPP reminds me of something you would see in one of the older Northeast cities like Philly or NYC.
  12. I was there once a few years back... view was great and so was the food.
  13. Had a date last night.... after dinner I wanted to do something different so I took him to Lucky Strike Lanes... the wait was about 1 hour for a lane so we decided to pass though I will DEFINITELY be going back b/c the place looked great! As we walked out we noticed Pete's Piano Bar so we decided to go in... it wasn't that crowded (Wednesday night... 830pm) but we ended up having a blast! That place was so much fun!! The guys on the pianos really knew what they were doing and we laughed, we sang, we just had a blast!! I can't wait to go back to Pete's and to take my friends and am looking forward to going to Lucky Strike Lanes!! On a side note, House of Blues seemed packed.... huge crowd. The only downside to Houston Pavilions was the lack of everything else... lots of vacant places needing to be filled, but I guess that will happen w/ time. With what they have now I can't imagine this place not doing well in the end.
  14. That's great! They (lucky strike) usually don't have a lot of lanes compared to normal bowling alleys... so I think that's normal for them... can't wait to go something fun and different to do in the city!
  15. From Houston Business Journal... Link to story Qatar Airways to open Houston office July 27th at Houston Pavilions Qatar Airways is opening an office in Houston to complement the airline’s flights between the Bayou City and Doha that started in late March. The office, located downtown in the Houston Pavilions, will officially open on July 27. “We made the decision to strategically locate our office in the central business district of Houston to make it easy for business and leisure passengers to make their travel arrangements,” Akbar Al Baker, chief executive officer of Qatar Airways, said in a statement. “Our offices will be staffed by trained, dedicated and courteous professionals who are prepared to help with any travel request. “We want the on-the-ground customer service experience to be as remarkable as our award-winning in-flight experience. That means there is no detail that is beneath or beyond our attention.”
