  1. http://houston.culturemap.com/news/restaurants-bars/06-20-19-shake-shack-new-location-downtown-houston-702-main-opening-date-june-25/ Yup.... Tuesday the 25th.
  2. Agree this is a horrible location for a "Hard Rock Hotel". The one being built in New Orleans is right on Canal Street... great location.
  3. Wow I knew this thing was going to be close to the Cosmopolitan but that's insane ... lol.... they are gonna be able to reach out and touch each other! lol
  4. I'm sure the Marriott won't mind if this project is shelved...they won't lose their pool deck skyline view.
  5. I believe this building will have several floors of above ground parking below the office floors.
  6. Wow ... what an amazing addition to Downtown. 😍
  7. Love the SkyPark! ... it's like a little urban oasis.
  8. "Saltgrass Steakhouse coming soon" sign now up in front of the GRB where Bud's was.
  9. As someone who is terrified of heights I have SO much respect for workers like this! haha
  10. Construction has definitely started around 2 Houston Center... there are barriers up all along the McKinney side with pictures of what it will look like in the end.
  11. Finn Hall has been a great addition to Main Street .... stopped by yesterday and it was packed (as was it last Saturday). Downtown used to be completely dead on weekends.
  12. Live a few blocks away and walk across Disco Green several times a week going between EaDo and Downtown ... it's amazing how this park has helped transform this part of Downtown. Looking forward to seeing the improvements.
  13. If true that would make it our tallest residential building when complete... about the same height as Downtown's Wedge International Tower.
  14. So will this be Houston's tallest residential building when it's done? Current tallest is 2929 Weslayan at 40 floors / 533 feet.
  15. Imagine what Downtown would be like if all of those shops / restaurants in the tunnels and all of the people who use the tunnels daily were above ground... Downtown would be a completely different place.
  16. Just not a fan of all of the white... for some reason to me it looks unfinished.
  17. Stopped by Vinny's for lunch on Wednesday... pizza was amazing. The pies are a bit pricey, but when you see the actual size of them it's understandable. They are going to do very well.
  18. I saw 2 or 3 people on these around Downtown / East Downtown a week or two ago. I have a good friend in D.C. who said they are everywhere up there.
  19. Uptown may look "cleaner" to some extent but it's just not a walkable area in my opinion. Downtown is more dense and walkable and you have the rail lines ... it feels more like a "city" and is getting even better with the population surge. Uptown to me just means traffic and big avenues / boulevards. I live in the GRB / soccer stadium area and love how I can just walk to so many things or take the rail if i want... don't need my car as much.
  20. Awesome! This part of Downtown has changed so much in the past few years ... starting with Discovery Green. Love it!
