Great news .... looking forward to the next 2 lines opening in 2014. 

"Big Rivers Water Park is slated to open in April 2015 and the Grand Texas Theme Park should be ready by December 2015."

Awesome!  Hopefully "ready by DECEMBER 2015" means this park will be open year round ... like Disney parks. 

"The 630 acre facility with feature Big Rivers Water Park a 40 acre site which will include a river ride which flows through the already natural forest at the location.  Waterslides that wrap around large oak trees. Several roller coasters including one said to be one of the 10 largest wooden roller coasters in the United States."

Is this going to be connected to the tunnels? It'd be cool to get more retail that was at street level and in the tunnels. I agree that it would look good with some restaurants and other retail in two above ground stories so they can have balconies overlooking the park but that doesn't seem to be in the cards for this one.

Hopefully not.  I'd prefer they keep the residents above ground... add to the street life.

Flew on one a while back from IAH to EWR ... back before they had all of the problems.  Was a great flight ... amazing plane.  Loved the spacious cabins and the large windows.

Continental used to run a shuttle from Ellington to IAH .. I flew it several times when I moved to Houston b/c I lived right near Ellington.  Parking at Ellington was free.  The only thing that sucked was once I was flying home and I got to IAH and had to wait 2 to 3 hours for my flight to Ellington ... could have driven!  haha   It was convienent though not having to look and pay for parking.

It's absolutely time for a name change .... to "Houston Intercontinental Airport". 

Not the BIGGEST fan of this building and its design, but I still like it and am happy to see it go up.      Now BG Group Place (Main Place), that's a nice building!

One of my concerns regarding these proposed developments adjacent to Discovery Green is the shade cast upon the park. IMO, one of the things that makes Millennium Park in Chicago (a common comparison) so wonderful is that - in the middle of the city - the park is an open greenspace with no shade cast upon it by nearby highrises. I wonder if this development will make Discovery Green less desireable to some people.

With all of the sunshine / heat Houston gets I don't think people will mind a little shade.
