  1. Why is it that suppporting this president is "cult-like behavior over a messianic leader"? He is an intelligent, patriotic man and a strong leader. I'm happy to support our president. I think that's patriotic. But the terms of dialogue have conveniently shifted... if one didn't support Bush, one was an enemy of the state. Now, if you support Obama, you're a sheep following a false Messiah. Sorry, you just can't have it both ways (unless you are Glenn Beck...).

Bingo! Isn't it funny how Conservatives suddenly don't like America? When Bush was in office it was unpatriotic to not support the President let alone bash everything he does in a time of war. They do that now with Obama. When Bush was in office if he had been giving a speech before Congress and a Democrat did what Joe Wilson did, disrespecting the office of the Presidency, that person would be branded unAmerican among many other things. I see nothing wrong w/ Joe Wilson calling Obama a liar, that's freedom of speech, but yelling it out while Obama was addressing Congress was a complete showing of disrespect for the office of the Presidency. Now Conservatives are OK w/ that... how odd. When Bush was in office Fox News claimed to be the "we love America" news network... now they can't stand America.

Here's what I think. Conservatives aren't pro-America they are pro-conservatives. Conservatives don't love America they love the conservative parts of it. Conservatives aren't going to do anything to help Americans right now they are going to do whatever it takes to get elected in the next election. They claim they want health care reform but refuse to work towards it. They know if health care reform comes it will only help Obama... why would they want that?

If you can turn on Fox News and not see w/ your own eyes that people like Hannity and Beck are making stuff up to scare Americans b/c let's face it if Conservatives know one thing it's that Americans are easily scared... then you are an idiot. You are also being taken advantage of by the people u support. And let's face it, you know there are some people out there who don't like Obama b/c he's black... they won't come out and say that obviously they will just say they don't like him b/c they don't think he was born in America or something stupid like that.

It's becoming pretty obvious who the real "pro-America" party is and it's not the Republican Party. I've been saying that for a while now but wow has it become obvious.

  2. Went by Lucky Strike bowling alley and it is probably 75% complete....It looks great. They have most of the lanes in and the pins have been delivered. Mark my words, this place is going to be huge and will have a very high demand to get in and bowl. They do not have a great deal of lanes, and I bet this is going to be the place to see and be seen.

That's great! They (lucky strike) usually don't have a lot of lanes compared to normal bowling alleys... so I think that's normal for them... can't wait to go something fun and different to do in the city!

  3. I know it's August and it's above 90 by now, but it felt pretty damn nice this morning. We had a nice walk around the bayou along with many others who were out. Maybe September can start us off by cooling down the nights and mornings, then we'll work our way to decent days.

It the battle between the "So nice out!" thread versus the "Damn it's hot!" thread, I really hope this one gets more play in the next month.

Yea things are SLOWLY beginning to cool down. When u are used to upper 70s in the morning, low to mid 70s can feel cool! ha ha Looks like our afternoon temps will be in the low 90s for the upcoming week... that's going to feel great compared to the mid to upper 90s and even low 100s we have seen most of the summer! September begins on Tuesday it's all downhill (temperature-wise) from there!

  4. I just wanted to give a little heads up to everyone out there. While at lunch today at the Chili's at 59 and Buffalo Speeday my car was broken into. The driver's window was smashed and they looked for stuff to take but only took a book of CDs. I had a GPS in there which they found but they didn't take that... why I don't know but I was told u can track them and maybe they knew that.

I have reason to believe an employee or two there may (key word "may") have been involved. I don't have proof and won't go into details b/c I don't want to accuse someone of something unless I have proof... all I am saying is that if you go there park near a window where u can see your car!

After it happened the employees at Chili's treated us WONDERFULLY... they were very kind, paid for our meal which they didn't have to do, helped us with anything we needed and I would DEFINITELY eat there again... I was very thankful for all of the help they gave and made sure to let them know that. I just want to make sure people don't think I am badmouthing them... they were wonderful and since I don't have proof someone was involved I can't really do anything. The cops took prints (they didn't want to but we insisted... jeez you would think cops would want to at least try and catch bad guys!) so that's all we have to work with.

The point of this post was just to tell you that if you are in that area eating... anywhere, park where you can see your car. The cops told me the number of cars getting broken into in that area is extremely high.

  5. They must really be scraping the bottom of the barrel over at the Dancing With the Stars production. Among the lineup of people for the new segments (most of whom I have never heard of) is none other than Tom DeLay.

I never got past the first two episodes of the very first program, and tuned in once just to see Clyde glide. Other than that I had no interest in this show. Now I have less than none after the new grouping was announced today.

On thing about Delay’s appearance is that the show wanted someone “edgy”, but DeLay wasn’t their first choice. Those who were asked, but who declined for one reason or another, included Rod Blagojevich, William Jefferson, Spiro Agnew, James McGreevey and Richard Nixon. I think OJ was next in line to be propositioned.

On the other hand, if Tommy can dance around the floor as well as he could dance around accusations, he just might win the whole she bang. Stranger things have happened.

    That's just painful.

  6. From Houston Business Journal...

    Link to story

Qatar Airways to open Houston office July 27th at Houston Pavilions

Qatar Airways is opening an office in Houston to complement the airline’s flights between the Bayou City and Doha that started in late March.

The office, located downtown in the Houston Pavilions, will officially open on July 27.

“We made the decision to strategically locate our office in the central business district of Houston to make it easy for business and leisure passengers to make their travel arrangements,” Akbar Al Baker, chief executive officer of Qatar Airways, said in a statement. “Our offices will be staffed by trained, dedicated and courteous professionals who are prepared to help with any travel request.

“We want the on-the-ground customer service experience to be as remarkable as our award-winning in-flight experience. That means there is no detail that is beneath or beyond our attention.”

  7. The truth about Goldman Sachs(#3) is FINALLY being exposed by a major media member almost 6 MONTHS after my original entry.

If you saw Glenn Beck yesterday, he displayed the Goldman Sachs web of bankster deceit.

Now they need to drive home the fact that Goldman Sachs is behind the Cap & Trade scam.

Was is crying when he did all this? ....

  8. Looks like the heat wave is finally going to end this weekend... Sunday into early next week look cooler with higher rain chances... could struggle to hit 90F on at least one of the days... we will see!

  9. Hmmm... what about lawyers that are politicians? As many of them are... we're really up creek now... Personally, I don't like congressmen that used to be roach exterminators (Delay). Olson is equally a farce. But I digress...

I would like to hear Sotomayor say the following to Senator Sessions, from Alabama: "Me? A Racist? Coming from you, a man who was rejected, by this very body, 20 years ago - for actually being a racist? Really? STFU."

    Seriously!

  10. Westheimer Road, or FM1093 as it is formally called, is approximately 16 miles in distance, as the crow flies. The street begins at Bagby downtown, and ends at State Highway 6, where it becomes simply FM1093. The first 5 miles, beginning at Bagby, heads west to I-610. This section of Westheimer is as old as the city itself. It is at most a 4 lane paved street with a turn lane in the center at certain points throughout. It is home to various famous & historical landmarks, schools, universities, churches & neighborhoods. From it's beginning at Bagby to about Shepherd you can find anything from tattoo shops & thrift stores to 4 star gourmet restaurants, all next to each other. Beyond Shepherd to I-610 is the beginning of River Oaks, Houston's most prestige neighborhood. Westheimer becomes more of a Rodeo Dr., if you will, with exclusive boutique shopping experiences from the Upper Kirby Shopping District & the Highland Village Shopping Center.

The best part of Westheimer! (in my opinion ^_^ )
