Great addition to that part of Downtown. Looks good.

Agree this is a horrible location for a "Hard Rock Hotel". The one being built in New Orleans is right on Canal Street... great location.

Wow I knew this thing was going to be close to the Cosmopolitan but that's insane ... lol.... they are gonna be able to reach out and touch each other! lol

I'm sure the Marriott won't mind if this project is shelved...they won't lose their pool deck skyline view.

Are they building the parking garage above this portion? It looks like there's a ramp in the second to last picture
I believe this building will have several floors of above ground parking below the office floors.

I like it how it balances the skyline by having 4 new buildings past Chase now and the skyline will look longer too instead of the end being an abrupt 1,002 footer, who else has that number memorized by the way?
Was thinking the same exact thing!

As someone who is terrified of heights I have SO much respect for workers like this! haha

Construction has definitely started around 2 Houston Center... there are barriers up all along the McKinney side with pictures of what it will look like in the end.

Finn Hall has been a great addition to Main Street .... stopped by yesterday and it was packed (as was it last Saturday). Downtown used to be completely dead on weekends.

Live a few blocks away and walk across Disco Green several times a week going between EaDo and Downtown ... it's amazing how this park has helped transform this part of Downtown. Looking forward to seeing the improvements.

Emporis list this at 549 feet. Do not know how accurate their data is.
If true that would make it our tallest residential building when complete... about the same height as Downtown's Wedge International Tower.

So will this be Houston's tallest residential building when it's done? Current tallest is 2929 Weslayan at 40 floors / 533 feet.

Imagine what Downtown would be like if all of those shops / restaurants in the tunnels and all of the people who use the tunnels daily were above ground... Downtown would be a completely different place.

Just not a fan of all of the white... for some reason to me it looks unfinished.

Stopped by Vinny's for lunch on Wednesday... pizza was amazing. The pies are a bit pricey, but when you see the actual size of them it's understandable. They are going to do very well.

Very excited for this ... another great addition to my neighborhood!

I saw 2 or 3 people on these around Downtown / East Downtown a week or two ago. I have a good friend in D.C. who said they are everywhere up there.

Uptown may look "cleaner" to some extent but it's just not a walkable area in my opinion. Downtown is more dense and walkable and you have the rail lines ... it feels more like a "city" and is getting even better with the population surge. Uptown to me just means traffic and big avenues / boulevards. I live in the GRB / soccer stadium area and love how I can just walk to so many things or take the rail if i want... don't need my car as much.

A vote on the W hotel will be held today.
"Houston First is expected to vote today on deal that could bring a W hotel to downtown Houston.
The hotel would be built atop the Partnership Tower, Houston First's new 10-story office building next to the George R. Brown Convention Center.
At its board meeting Thursday afternoon, Houston First will consider a preliminary agreement with developer Texas Hospitality Partners to build the hotel.
The city's convention arm solicited proposals in 2014 from developers who could build the hotel, which was in the original plan for Partnership Tower. The structure at 701 Avenida de las Americas was designed to support the hotel."
Awesome! This part of Downtown has changed so much in the past few years ... starting with Discovery Green. Love it!

That would be awesome if it's true.
