N. Korea Suspected in Cyber Attacks on USA & S. Korea
HtownWxBoy replied to TheNiche's topic in Off Topic
Yea, I know... it's still crazy, though. They just remind me of some bratty little kid who screams and smashes things just for attention... you want to just go up and smack the kid in the face but then you would get in trouble and it's just not worth it... but man how much would you just like to slap the crap out of that kid! -
From what I read the other two lines are just taking a bit longer because they are just a bit more complicated... particularly the University Line. Since the Uptown Line connects through the University Line, there's no point in starting that until they start the University Line.

N. Korea Suspected in Cyber Attacks on USA & S. Korea

How... in God's name... is North Korea able to cause so much trouble in the world. They are one of the poorest, most isolated countries on Earth! They barely have enough money for food and yet they have money to build nuclear bombs and commit cyber attacks! -

Not sure if everyone will see rain... there is a good band of rain / storms slowly pushing in from the north right now. The clouds alone, however, will keep temperatures from reaching 100F like we have been seeing... should top out in the mid 90s this afternoon... give or take a few degrees.
-
I haven't looked over things in too great a detail but one thing that kind of stands out is that it seems a bit "busy" and "cluttered". It's a little harder on the eyes ... guess it just takes getting used to like anything else.
-
Good News... today should be the last day of 100F+ weather for at least for a little bit... a frontal boundary is pushing in from the north... it should bring us increased clouds and rain chances beginning on Monday which will at least put our afternoon temperatures in the low to mid 90s where they belong as opposed to the upper 90s / low 100s. It's not a huge cool down but it's better than nothing... I mean it is still summer in Houston so it's going to be hot / humid.

Wow great news!! -
There is a lesbian running for Mayor... Annise Parker. She is currently leading in the polls. If she were to win she would become the first openly gay American to become Mayor of one of the 10 biggest cities in the Nation. Currently Portland, OR is the largest city with an openly gay mayor. Will Houston Elect a Lesbian Mayor?

Most people aren't going to know that... if they take the light rail they are going to go to the "Houston Zoo" station since it says... "Houston Zoo"! They need to add "Houston Zoo weekday / alternative" to the name of the Hermann Park light rail station.

Here's something that bugged me. My family came to visit in the spring and they stayed Downtown on Main Street. We took the train to the zoo one weekday (mainly for my 2 year old niece) and got off at the "Houston Zoo" station and had to walk all the way around to the other side of the zoo to enter b/c the entrance closest to the train station is not open on weekdays. When we left we walked through Hermann Park and caught the train on the Hermann Park / Rice U station to get back to Downtown... shorter walk.

I was thinking the same thing... it seems like the foundation gave way on one side or something and it just tipped over. Wow that is crazy! Imagine if it was full of people! The development, known as -
Funny you said that... I was listening to the radio the other morning coming home from work and they were talking about how there has been a surge in births across Houston... 9 months after Ike. Oo... just found one article about it... Ike Baby Boom #1 when it comes to sex... definitely something to be proud of... go Houston!!
